Hi folks.

Reported in the news over here that Collingwood made what was described as an "ambitious" trade offer for Daniel Kerr.

Does anybody know what the offer was?

honestly they prob just enquired aboout him, but ch 7 had nothing else to report so they quickly compiled a story about how both essendon and collingwood made some extraordinary attempts to get him. No other station reported it. Seven are notorious for putting at least one Eagles story in their nightly news to keep theyre viewers happy. Even if its made up

not trying to sound bitter or anything :D

I would think any offer trying to secure Kerr would be "ambitious"!

Probably offered Pick 2 and probably one in the 20s, but hey, I just made that up so who the F knows?!?!
I didn't think a Priority Pick could be traded. Nonetheless, this is what I posted in the Trade Thread regarding Kerr:

This is Sheddys 4th year at attempting to gain Kerr.

Collingwood & Essendon are offering Kerr $100K more a year, no mention of drafts.

WCE don't want to trade Kerr. Therefore its in Essendon's & Collingwood's court to put a ridiculous offer on the table.

Collingwood: Pick 5 & Tarrant

Essendon: Pick 7 & Kepler Bradley

The above trades aint gonna happen. Good, fantastic for us at WCE as we do not want to trade him, unless a stupidly obscene offer is made to us that we can't refuse.

So Bradley >>>> Tarrant?????

Yep, that's a stupid offer alright!

I'm pretty sure we've settled on it being made up.
Fair enough, agree with you.

I guess what I'm trying to get across is that we will not consider a trade unless its a deal of a lifetime. I'm not trying to over-rate Kerr, I'm just pointing out that I can't see us trading him.

I'm not getting into those types of arguements.

I've got a bit of respect when I come onto a Club's Board.

On the Main Board, yeap anything goes.

Fair enough, I see yoru point anyhow. Kerr will stay at West Coast unless a ridiculous offer comes up.

But while your Essendon suggestion is 10 out of ten in ridiculousness, your Collingwood suggestion is off the chart!!!!! (Not to mention the bleeding obvious, West Coast could use a forward of Tarrants ability while in defence you dont need a Kepler Bradley).

Mmmm, Look I can see where you're coming from.

In defense, if Glass gets badly beaten, theres no one else that can go to the last line of defense. Therefore someone like Bradley / Polak would be ideal.... which would allow Hunter to become our 3rd floating tall in the backline or a more permanent move to the Fwd line.

Ie. with a multi-pronged attack such as Sydneys, we struggled badly to cover all their Fwd options, ditto with the Saints next year, if they stay relatively injury free.

But geez I'd love Tarrant at WCE as well, its a shame that most other WCE fans can't see what he could offer to us. Aint gonna happen, so thats that.

With your midfield and the dry Perth climate, Tarrant would be virtually unbeatable at Subi. But keep dreaming - it wont happen!!!

If I was a liar and my job was to invent stories for Channel 7 during a ********-boring trade week... I would pick an exciting club and an exciting player for my paid fantasy.

...
Collingwood - The only exciting team
Kerr - damn-good unsung brownlow-nearly'ing Killer-Player.

Keep all us Collingwood fans excited about such an (imaginary) trade prospect, and Channel 7 sells 3 more Cat Food commercials next Friday fortnight.
