Ward has never had trouble finding the footy, he's just so damn unnaccountable. Case in point, yesterday picked up 27 possessions but I think he was standing Steve Johnson. So, yeah, what were those possessions really worth?

Daniel Bell was standing Johnson apparently in that last quarter so dont hold it against Wardy.

If that's the case then Bell MUST be dropped and never returned as when he had the ball he was terrible.

We are stuffed without Wheels.

Ward has pace and finds the ball, but does he actually know who his direct opponent is?
His unaccountability will cost us dearly in finals.

Ward can almost afford to be a bit unaccountable if Wheels is there also, as Wheels covers so well.

Without Whelan though, we are in dear trouble. I'd love to see our win-loss ratio with Whelan, i reckon we lose most matches he doesnt play or gets injured in.

You're most probably right there, especially if the opposition have a gun small forward. He really is a vital part of our defence and we will miss him sorely against the crows, especially with bode being in good form of late.

Bell will take Bode. If Ward does, he'll kick 8.

Bartram is the other option, but they might put him on McLeod again.

iirc Whelan has only played one final in his life. Been injured through every other finals series, he is listed as 1-3 on the sunday footy show this morning so hopefully only 1 but im guessing 2

ward got the 3 votes on triple m not just for his 27 touches but because he constantly was on his opponent and had 6 or 7 spoils on his opponent when they were leading out. great game from him. he's always been pretty good but struggled with injuries. good to see him back in the team and i think he's a starter for the rest of at least this season.

Chapman was his opponent if i remember correctly who got a similar amount of possessions as Ward but was less effective.
