Hey gang. Anyone out there remember what number Danny Del-Re wore? My sisters hompage on her computer is Danny's wikipedia page. I was like WTF? Anyway she wants to name her french bulldog 'Danny Del-re', once again i was like WTF? She's not even that big a doggies fan, she just reckons Danny was the funniest player ever. Don't know if that's a compliment for Del-Re or not.

Anyway. Long story short, i need to know what number Danny Del-Re wore. Cheers.

Jack Collins, Kelvin Templeton, Simon Beasley, Chris Grant, Brad Johnson.....team of the Century Members ....... and Danny Delre!!! Only Dogs to kick over 70 goals in a season.

Most goals kicked by a Dog in a final.....Danny Delre 1992 8 goals

Amazing how a player can be so good in one season then disappear forever behind the biggest nose ever seen in the VFL/AFL.

Butane, Butane, Butane!!!

If only you had a copy of my super dooper excel spreadsheet with every Bulldogs player & their number/s you wouldn't need to ask these types of questions.

PM me with your email address if you want a copy.

Sounds like a good idea. One small problem...I don't have excel:eek:

Wasn't Del Re a runner at the club recently? Or did I dream it. Can't remember, haven't been in Australia for 18 months so memory is fading. Possibly replaced by Peter Filandia?

Still have a photo of myself with Del Re in the early 90's; his shnoz pushing me out of the frame.

Still remember the Geelong fans singing "Danny Del Re up my bum, doo dah, doo dah" in the 92 (or was it 94) finals series.

Yea, it was the size of his (expletive).
In Footscray’s game with West Coast in 1992, whenever Del Re came close to the ball the commentators noted very much how big his buttocks were. In one case in the last quarter when he picked up the ball the commented explicitly.

Del Re might have kicked only 1-1 (7) but he worked very hard and showed clearly how much the Eagles missed Sumich - massively more than they would have on a dry day (or even on the wet Perth weather they would have been training in as you can see here) when the lightly framed bodies of the forward line they played (Heady, Matera, McIntosh, Clape, Lewis) would have been able to fly high and take marks. On the lake-like clay-soil Western Oval these Eagle forwards appeared literally paralysed, and a defence obviously vulnerable in dry weather seemed absolutely impassable.
