After reading that, I'm not really sad to see him off. As handy as he was for us at times.

Also, it wasn't suprising that carlton, more so pagan, tried to make him let his contract lapse, so they'd get him as a first pick and we'd lose him for nothing. Checky bastards.

Let's say the player was a decent defender at another club, and it was us that finished down the list, would it be as bad if we had poached a player who was obviously not going to get the money he was wanting at his present club?
(Not that I can remember when we were LAST like Carlton are)
I'd say go for it.
