I thought that our future CHB should be having a weekly update.

He was very impressive on the weekend after being named in the final VIC metro squad for the carnival. He spent most of the game up forward but went back when needed. He keeps getting better by the week from what I have seen.

18 possessions, 10 marks and three goals.

He was definitely in the top 3 on the ground in terms of an impact on the match

Nope, he can opt to go to either Sydney or us, because his dad qualified for both teams under father son.

As for the new father-son ruling, im pretty sure this is how it goes. Any team can make a bid for a father son eligible player. The club that he is elligible for has to offer their first pick IN THE NEXT ROUND after the pick offered by any other club. This basically ensures that a father son pick wont go in round 1, unless the team he is elligible for turns down the offer. So as an example, if Richmond offered pick 1 for him, we would have to use our first 2nd round draft pick on him.

ye it will be a good pick up if we get him but dont u think that we would be gettin to much CHB, CHF kin of players i think we need to start thinkin bout a roving player

Over that past 4 years we have drafted; Stanton, Dyson, Nash, Slattery, Monfries, Dempsey, Lonergan, Houli, Remiers, Jetta, Davey and Hislop. Haynes of the rookie list, but we've delisted him. We have also delisted Thomas and Lucy, who could have been midfielders IIRC.

The oldest of them is Stanton at 22. So I would say we have our fair share of young midfielders; we havent been stingy in drafting them that's for sure.

In that time, the KPP we have drafted are: Gumby, Bradley, Lee, Neagle (F/S) and Ryder. We also got Johns off the Rookie list. So 6 KPP in 4 years. I would hardly call that overloading.

Actually he's only 21 and Slatts, Nash, Davey and Dyson are all older.

You're right in regard to our drafting the past few years. We have picked up some really promising young midfielders. Can't wait to see Hislop and Lonergan in action for the dons.

Think about hawthorn and Richmond ...Hawks drafted key position players (franklin, Roughead), Tigers smalls (deledio, Tambling)

Where are the Hawks and Tigers now.

We must build a structure for the future. If Darcy costs us our 2nd or 3rd pick who cares.

Only if he is worth a 2nd or third pick though. I've head varying reports on how well he has been going. One thing I do know though is that the possible #1 draft pick is a KPP, and I think there are a few other KPP that will go high in the draft, so Daniher may slip down anyway. Only tie will tell I suppose. Hopefully he has a good carnival.

I understood it to be the next pick available to the F-S club.
So if the ladder stays the same as it is now, all the clubs 7-16 could offer their first pick and Essendon would have to do the same, however, if the clubs 1-5 say they'd take him with their first pick, then Essendon can use their second pick on him.

And from what I've heard, Sydney think he's decided to go to Essendon.

Im pretty sure it is the first pick in the next round. That way it basically ensures you dont use a first round selection on a FS listing.

I think you quoted the wrong post, but if you are refering to the FS rule, I am 98% sure that is how it works.

Does anybody know Darcy's intentions what club would he prefer to play for Essendon or Sydney?

How does this new father son rule work? Is he definately 'ours'?

That's not the case, if richmond offered their first round pick we would have to give up our first round pick. The new bidding system states that you have to at least match the round of the draft pick that has been offered.

Sounds good. When is the U18 carnival?
the first round of matches is throughout the last week of june. vic metro play in the first week of july.

his dad has said that he wants him to stay in victoria, so hopefully that is the case
