I don't know why, but I thought I was a huge rebel back in the day when I repeated Triple M's footy slogan at the time 'shutup, the footys on the radio!'. Late 90s I reckon.

This song transports me to the backseat of my dad's beat -up, piece of shit Ford on the way to school in the morning. It was all over the radio:

It also reminds me of Super Mario and 9/11.

Finley Quaye's Dice and Youth Group's cover of Forever Young remind me of nights out at university. Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart and Daddy Cool's Eagle Rock were college anthems when I lived on campus.

Got my first kiss to Bush's Glycerine.

The acoustic version of Shimmer by Fuel is very much tied to my high school girlfriend.

Haha. They were both traditional. Total Eclipse Of The Heart was the song that all the drunk guys would sing on the bus home.

Eagle Rock has a longstanding tradition in a number of colleges around the country whereby everybody drops their pants when it starts playing.

I heard this Modjo track for the first time in a decade just yesterday. I hadn't even thought about it since back then, so it took me 30 seconds to place the song. Then the great memories flooded in. To me it is finishing Primary School, it was a great track from around the time we had Year 6 farewells and muck-ups.

I remember when Bloke came out in early 2000, there was a lunchtime where a majority of the guys in the grade crowded around the CD player and sang it together 2 times in a row.

Good 2000 memories. Friends Forever was also the big farewell song that year (although it felt a little forced to me).

Across the Night by Silverchair is 2003 early mornings on the high school bus.

Back to You by Bryan Adams is also a cherished family road trip from the xmas period of 1997. It was on the car radio like 3-4 times a day. Was one of my favourite songs in my pre-teen years for those reasons.

This reminds me of high school, year 9/10 I suppose

Probably moreso because Ja Rule since disappeared off the face of the earth so I have nothing to counterbalance the memories of the wigger bishes always playing this shit on their phones in the common room or at recess/lunch
