Pretty simple poll.

I rate both of them as future guns of the comp. They both have all the flashy stuff. The speed, the evasivness, the goal kicking.

Davey's one percenters is what puts him ahead in my mind. Lead the dees for tackles this year. he also puts on loads of pressure with chases and even if he isn't successful, it makes the opposition know that he is always coming.

Lovett does has this aspect to his game aswell but it isnt as well developed as Davey's IMO but anyway, vote away!

Davey for me.

Much better defensive side of his game and hasnt suffered a letdown of form in his second year either.

Lovett looks pretty good but clubs will be more wary of him next year.

I reckon Lovett was tagged from about his 6th game onwards. Clubs are already wary of him. I don't think he will be anymore heavily tagged in 2006 than he was in 2005, which holds him in pretty good stead.

He was 6th on Essendon's tackle count, but one thing we do have is good tacklers. Johnson's, McVeigh, Peverill are all very good tacklers.

I reckon Lovett is better overhead than Davey, but that isn't a huge part of eithers game, so it is neither here nor there. Lovett finds a bit more of the footy than Davey, but that is probably subject to him spending more time up the ground.

At the end of the day it is pretty hard to split and I'd be happy with either (or both) on my list.

Davey plays closer to goal and relies on his crumbing abilty more.
His defensive pressure is great and really stepped up his tackling this year.

I like lovett coz he can play midfield/half forward, but can still lead and mark or crumb from the forward pocket.

and imo lovett is a better kick for goal and around the ground.

DAVEY no doubt lovett has a some improving until he wants to jump into the MVP aboriginal player category...good on u Davey u lil superstar and to Lovett your a massive talent with plent of improvement

Essendon supporters will say lovett, melbourne supporters will say davey.

of course Im going to say lovett because I see him first hand every week and he has enormous talent, I think he will develop into a midfielder.

would love to have them both on the list though, lovett in the middle and davey in the forward line then swap em over and give the other a break in the forward line and the other a run in the middle.

Actually Dave it is hard to split them. Davey has appeared to be more damaging so far, especially around goal so he probably edges out Lovett.

The positive for Andrew is that he is better up the field than Davey.

At the end of the day, as others have already stated, can we have both of them please?

davey, because of his one percenters and skills....also cos lovett's new haircut makes him look like some sort of bantam.

what puts davey ahead is notonly his 1 percenters but he came top 2 in goal assists this yr. pretty sure it was 2nd but mightve been 1st.

in the flashy department they are even in my books but Davey is better at lovett in the defensive areas of the game and his pressure is second to none.

davey showed that he can play as a midfielder

see the game vs geelong where 2 or 3 times he made dashing runs out of the back half, and got plenty of the ball
