Why would he retire then? Couldn't he just have requested a trade to wa if he really wanted to play there?

He retired from the AFL at the end of 2015. West Coast and Freo had no interest in him. I think he played in the ammos in melbourne this year.
He is a WA boy from Swan Districts so he is just returning home to be close to his family. Swannies are probably throwing a few $$$ his way as well.
He played for Greensborough in the northern football league this year
