Has anyone heard what is happening with David? He has worked his butt off at Williamstown this year, I hope he is given another year to develop, he has good ground skills.

Was a project player so wouldn't be suprised if he got cut, but he has the height. Never proved himself as a tap ruckman though, which is what we are looking for. Too slow (physically and mentally ) around the ground to be considered a Cox/Fraser type.

Rupert, a minimum of 5 or 6 have to go. Arguably more should but at least 5 or 6 need to make way for draft picks and O’Brien and possibly Toovey and/or a PSD selection. If Fanning doesn’t go then who the heck does?

Just on Fanning though he really is another case of how poorly MM judges players and particularly big men. I understand he was a project with some speculation but he was always a longshot and should never have been on the senior list. After his 2 rookie years were up he should have been dumped or re rookied for another 2 years. At no point in his career has he looked good enough, brave enough, strong enough or anything enough to suggest he would make it. What exactly did MM ever see in him other than he was tall and we have no viable ruck?

I thought at the time that he faught bravely in 2005 when he was the only fit ruckman on our list and played as a skinny promoted rookie for 3/4 of the season. I thought that with a bit of time he'd learn the game.

However seeing as how he went backwards so much this year, it seems I was just a crap judge.

The only reason he ever got promoted to start with was because he was the only fit ruck in the entire squad at the time.

happy to see him go- just couldnt cut it really in the big time. I thought C2 was a better ruck option than him and feel he should be retained at least for 1 more yr as we all of a sudden we dont have too many top heavy players.
