I actually heard he is going back to Richmond. Reliability of my source I would say is 50%

Doesn't make sense to me...but he would definitely want to come back to Melbourne I would think because his wife's family lives in Melbourne and she is Italian with a big family and wog families have a big pull (I can say this because I am a wog myself!)
 
David Rodan yes plz would be a great Sub or Forward pocket with mid rotation. Can really turn games when he wants to. Imagine him coming on at 3 qrt time. That would be exciting. Hope we pick him up for nothing!

Hahaha you're right, his wife is Italian. Massive babe, she taught my P.E. class in year 10. It was a sad day when she followed Rodan over to South Australia, the young men of my school were distraught.
 
I have no idea how he would fit in or help our side other than if he were to be a super sub. The guy is a master of the green jacket, he gives immediate impact and energy on ball or forward. Having said that I don't think the AFL is quite ready for specialist subs yet. Although if they bring in another sub position as rumoured that all may change.

Completely agree Rodan is a big impact player. If he can come of the bench and play his natural game the results would be fantastic. We could use him like essendon uses Lovett Murray chuck him on and tell him to go for it
 
Yes 100%. He is not slow off the mark. When he gets the ball his speed from the pack is great but in a 50 or 100 meter sprint it isn't as good.

I work with the wife of a ex port player and was asking about him on wednesday and he said he was always the first picked out in meetings when they lost no matter what he did. He could get 30 touches and kick 3 goals they would pick him out and say you didn't get enough tackles or some BS stuff like that. But guys like Dom Cassisi could not get a touch and Primis would say great game Dom you had 5 tackles and 4 pressure acts. His run could be just what we need and whenever he gets the ball he makes things happen. So a big yes for me. Will cost us just a spot on the list he would take base wage one if no one wants him or he feels he is a chance for a flag. A top bloke.

Good shutdown small defender from all accounts, but consistently injured. Has destroyed small forwards yet constantly underrated, bit like Toovey. Reading the thread on the MB, he's played 35 games in 3 years, despite being in their best 22.

Either his end of year medical came back badly, or Port are insane. Rodan and Surjan could be potential freebies for us if we're interested.
 
i've thought rodan has been grossly overrated by non port fans for a year or two now. Great highlight package weaving through traffic but goes missing far to often in games and has a tendency to have no impact.

I also don't think he uses his amazing evasive skills to best effect, probably gets caught up in the moment and holds onto the ball to long, by the time he is ready to get rid of it all the forwards are out of position.

Would much rather surjon from port adelaide (if he could pass a medical) if he stayed fit I have no doubt he would break into the side, one of the best shut down small defenders in the comp. Would have to assume his body is shot though.
 
Went to primary and secondary school with him. He was two years above me. I helped carry him to an ambulance when i was 9 and he was 12 when he broke his leg. Compound fracture, sliding down a wet hill and hit a rock. He is tough nut and a great guy. Still had time for a chat when he was at Richmond. Would love to see him at the pies. Both for sentimental reasons and because i believe he's a great player. I'm really glad he's got to the stage he's at, shame to see him delisted though. Wish him all the best, either at the pies or somewhere else.

could not see the harm in at least rookie listing rodan. Has enoromous talent, and as said, has the abilty to play the sub role perfectly.

I would be shocked if nobody picked him up to be honest.

He seemed to be the only player that gave a **** for the past few years. I don't get Port/Melbourne's obsession with youth. You need older players to look up to!

I wouldn't be against getting Surjan and Rodan if they came really cheap (salary cap wise)

Sinclair can chase well but he has the tackling prowess of a witches hat. Opposition players seem to know they can run through him because he has no strength. And sure he's only 20 but I can't seem him sorting out his disposal and decision making flaws.


In the one year Rodan played in a good side (2007), he did quite well.

He's also a good citizen and that can't be overrated. Yes he has his limitations but he'd be cheap and worth the risk.
 
I am keen. I rate Rodan, he is the type of player that would do great in team performing well. He is a strong bodied midfielder who can also kick goals. Why not I say?
