Loved him as a player, and he is the only umpire who always makes me smile. Also not sure if it’s right, but my perception is that he rarely asks for reviews, always looks very professional and confident.

Other goal umpires are probably pissed off with his profile, but they could learn from David as I have never seen him call for a score review.

Look at David's 100% certainty of the O'Meara goal early in the 4th quarter on Sunday. I was watching the game and said to myself, he wont review that like other goal umpires would and he didn't.





7 after the goal was signalled showed how close it was and this backs up how good Rodan is,

the issue with players earning lifetime money now is that it will be harder to get some into umpiring after their career.

It blows my mind in sports that this isn't a career path similar to line coaching for ex players. not just footy.
