Forgive me if the answer is obvious. But I was just reading Waitey's article on how Teague and Lappin are playing with the Bullants but more importantly facilitating the development and nurturing our kids.
I loved Lappin, and now that he's old(er) I like the fact that he's still helping the club, and enjoy seeing him roaming the boundary during as part of our coaching staff during AFL games.
However how old is Teague? If he's still a nice age, is he still on our list? Why was he dropped? Didn't he win a BnF as a defender? Did he fall out with Pagan?

David Teague and Matthew Lappin are paid employees of our club as development coaches.

Lappin retired at the end of last year, and David Teague was delisted because he wasn't good enough.

So sad to see teague delisted...one of the bravest players i've ever seen, fearless attack on the ball, on par with glen archer But he was just to bloody slow and his skills were pretty aweful

But it seems like he's making a pretty good coach, its great that the club saw that early and offered him a job. It's not really that sad a situation.

thanks for clearing that up guys; but if he was to lift his game to a new level, and as a former b&f; would the blues under a new coach and administration consider slotting him in? An experienced defender who the boys already know?

Teag's didn't see eye to eye with Pagan, and Dennis said to him after he played on Aaron Hamill in 2006, and had 2 kicked on him, that this game would be his last for Carlton.

From then on he spent most of his time as a Bullant. However Ratt's spoke to Teags at the end of '07' and said your still young and believe you have something to show, however your not out of it entirly, and we want you to have a solid year in VFL and we will address your progress end of 08. He is brillant as a coach, and is learning every game, more so now he is out for couple weeks.

I believe he has something more to offer at AFL especially down the back line, can play above his height and weight, and his work with Browny, AJ, Sheildsy especially will be a shinning light in years to come for the blues

Wow, thats a fantastic post for a non-carlton supporter. Whats the story there?

Hats off.

so what you are saying is that Carlton may re draft Teague at the end of the year?

I don't think so

Well ratts has givin russel a go and look what it has done , he has also given ackland another go, so i dont see why he would not, he's got the form

He was delisted, because he wasn't good enough.

We are not going to redraft someone of his age with our youth policy. It will not happen.

How does trueblueroo know a conversation of any sort took place?

Lets say I have an interest with the Bullants...

plenty of players in the past have been re-drafted, after given them time to get themselves right mentally and physically. Their has been some talent wasted by D.Pagan over the years, simply by having opinions and views on them that can not be changed. You guys have an excellent group of players who understand culture, blokes who look after each other and prepared to work for results.

The full-moon musta gone to your head, coz Teague was a really dud, crappy player after the 2004 hallucination alot of players went through.

If he was good enough he would still be on our list. Mate watching guys like Bower, Grigg and Jamo go at it with tenacity the last few weeks shows how mediocre Teague was after 2004.

Let him develop as a coach, and look elsewhere for decent defenders.
