Was discussing with a friend the merits of Tomic and whether or not he should be in the Davis Cup squad for the semi-final. He has repeatedly stated that his fight is with TA not the Davis Cup squad or Wally Masur and is willing to play, Masur has also said he would like him in the squad.

So do we leave the fight with TA to be dealt with separately and pick our best possible squad or do we let TA potentially blow a chance for us to win another Davis Cup and worse still lose to Great Britain?

My view is yes. These are professional athletes and if they are wanting to be there, have them there, even more so if Hewitt (who will be the captain next year) wants him back in. The personal relationships inside the team are built on tour and the will see past his fight with TA over funding for his sister.

My view is simple, he is the best Davis Cup player we have, he plays. Who cares what he says about TA...most of it is correct anyway.

I'd pick Bernie too. His Davis Cup record is good and he would beat the British #2 in his sleep.

Honestly it will probably come down to how Kokkinakis' form is. If TA think he is playing well enough to beat the British #2 they will keep Bernie on the outter.

Poor form by Ward and good form by Edmund recently might see Edmund take the #2 spot, would be more of a worry than Ward on a hard court
