out of curiosity do you have a 9-5 type job? being an office worker, having some daylight when you get home is amazing, the winter months can be pretty much dark when you leave the house, dark when you leave the office. Love daylight saving.

Would be relevant if daylights saving was in winter.

Perth is still pretty sunny during the summer and all daylights savings does is makes it still bloody hot at 10.00 or 11.00 when you want to go to sleep.

Yes! Daylight savings is the best. Not huge on summer, especially the gross and humid and restrictive Melburnian ones, but farrrk... it's an alright time.

I've never met someone I liked who thought daylight savings was a bad idea.

Usually Liberal voting w***ers with the softest excuses ever. It's always hot in the middle of the night in Perth! Typical of the scared, conservatism of that place.

Melbourne isn't humid at all.

Why? I personally think it should be an all-year thing.

If it was an all-year thing then it wouldn't be called daylight-savings, it would just be permanently pushing time forward an hour, which is stupid. After a while society will forget that it happened and be whinging about not getting enough light during winter. Soon enough night time will no longer exist.

Miss out on an hour of sleep. Hate it!

Though enjoy waking up earlier to more sunlight.

The hour of sleep you miss when the clocks are pushed forward is made up when they are pushed backwards when it's on. Look forward to it, love it when it's still well and truly light at 6 when I'm walking home. :thumbsu:

That hour or 2 after tea when you went back out and played more cricket with your mates as a kid :thumbsu:
And this :hearts:

On topic:Is there anyway we can change nature to make Summer less hot? I can handle low 30's. 31, 32, 33 at a stretch. But once you start hitting consistent 36, 37 and 40+ then I think you're just having a giggle there m8. Suggestions?

Apparently if you drive a 4 cylinder very slowly the temperatures will go back to 1960s levels, when it never got as hot as it does now.

Love being able to go play nine holes at about 6pm.

Also love that it starts to get light when I finish night shift, the best part of my day is going for a lap around town in the morning when I'm finished watching plebs drive to work.

I feel the same way Balkan. I can't stand really hot weather. 25 to 30 is good.

You're aware that you're going to confuse the people from Perth even more by discussing summer temperatures in this thread, right?

Actually, within Perth, the referendum returned the strongest Yes votes in safe Liberal electorates like Hillarys and Carine. The strongest No votes were in safe Labor seats like Armadale and Gosnells.

Massive LOL to the people who say they miss an hour of sleep

Allow me to write this simple tutorial that should help you get through this tough transition period

If you usually sleep 8 hours a night, when you go to sleep at night on Saturday, sleep for roughly 8 hours

This should sort out any missing hours of sleep you've previously experienced

I hope not. Adelaide summers these days are pissweak and short enough as they are.

Or if you must be up at an exact time every single Sunday, go to bed an hour earlier.
