reports on adelaide radio that brogan is not happy at being offered two years by port, he wants three
and now his father has gone public about other clubs wanting him
as usual, sydney is one, carlton the other

would we want brogan?
he's 29, so still got plenty of footy in him, and he seems healthy
and it's obvious spida everitt is seriously struggling

jolly and brogan would be a good pair, but brogan does have a bit of the barry hall temper about him

Take Brogan in a second, if we could get him, which i dont think will happen.

Very good player

No! We need to develop a young ruckman and stop getting old players. Everitt has been a bust for us.

brogan's not as old, or anywhere near as debilitated as spida seems

...although i'd be more than happy to bring dan currie in now and let him continue his development in the seniors

surely we can't have spida in the team anymore

Having him out because of suspension or on the verge of being suspended every couple of weeks would see us take the Currie route anyway. Why waste a 2nd or 3rd rounder this close to the new teams being introduced anyway? They're going to get heavy concessions in the draft, and we need to recruit well as long as we have the chance to.

If Currie is ready and is as good as everyone that watches the swans ressies says he is then no thanks. Particularly given that I believe next year will probably be the start of a short rebuild I'd rather give him a chance and then if he isn't coming along at the end of the year look at trading for another established ruckman. Brogans a pretty Handy ruckman but I don't think trading for him is in the clubs best interests at this stage.

No thanks, the Spida thing has not worked, dont want to go down the same
road.
Actually, it has worked in many ways. Improvement in Jolly is more or less a direct result of watching and playing with Spida. Even though he may not be as agile as he has been in previous years, he still has a great footy head that has been useful to us not only on the field but off. Would love to see Currie and Orreal being mentored by him as he'd provide them with more potential for growth than an out of footy coach.
