I agree. I reckon he'll go all right. Everyone loves mentioning our future forward line of Hughes, Schulz, plus whoever we pick up in this years draft...strange that Limbach never rates a mention.

In my opinion, he's been told to play with Coburg without worrying about senior action for the moment, just mature on his own terms and he'll get his debut in 2007. Good way to prepare a young guy, especially for a key forward.

yeah must get his attitude right...but looks like one of those difficult players to match up on. Has a similar body size and game style to Russel Robertson - can take a good mark ...kicking can be a worry....think he has the tools. Big yr for him though - would want to show more improvement again.

spot on coming from a long way back in terms of core fitness and the dedication required to make it at this level. Was given an ultimatem/challeng by TW a while ago and will be made to earn his first cap all the way..

Has the potential to be a bit of a freak, whether he gets there.....? also a fair bit taller than robbo isnt he Booms? i thought he was 190+ cant remember his stats and cant be bothered looking them up atm :D

Limbach: 192cm, 74kg
Robertson: 184cm, 93kg

Massive weight difference shows just how far behind Limbach is.
 
he is very much fevola-esque......great on the lead and is a very accurate kick at goal....
would love to see him get some game time in 07, i think he will suprise a few.
 
By the time hes stopped growing he'll be about 195 cm, so realistically to be a KPP he needs to be around 95-100 kg. Thats a 25+ kg gain over what he is now. That'll probably take 3 preseasons. That means we'll have had this guy for 5 years before hes big enough.

thats fine with me that'll place him about the right time we're starting to be competitive. I think limmers can make it if he keeps improving.

Don't rate him at all. He can lead and take a chest mark on the lead. That is basically his whole skill set. When he isn't taking marks he contributes nothing and that style of player has little value in modern football. Has a huge amount of improving to do to get close to the AFL team. Personally I think both Hughes and McGuane showed more in limited time at FF than Limbach did in almost a full season for Coburg.

From the few Coburg televised games I saw I agree totally. Has the skills on the lead and with a run at a mark but doesnt like the second effort and disappears a little when it gets tough. Given the small number of games I saw...maybe a tad harsh but you can tell that stuff usually
 
Yep if the ball is not coming straight for him he does zero work. Kept a watch on him this year and I felt a little flat and uninspired, I hope he proves I'm full of ****e.

I'm with you PLSC. I was starting to think Mcgane was all but forgotten. Ignore hhis debut, we couldnt have been more under the pump that day if we tried given our meagre stocks. He has great hands and as you say gives it 100%. Seemed to make the odd crap decision at times and needs more bulk but that can be fixed Im sure. I think Ive seen Weaver suggest he may be more a forward than backman though but not certain about that, might be my old brain playin tricks.

Played CHF for Queensland. At that level he caught our eye because he was the mobile type who got around the ground. Has played mostly CHB for Coburg because Limbach (FF) and Hughes (CHF) have been in the team.

At CHB he does OK because he is courageous, physical and loves to run with the ball and thump it long. Is a pretty blunt instrument at this stage and that suits him. Has to learn a little more about positioning and when to stay with his man and when to run off.

Plays FF like Schulz. Leads in the corridor, knocks blokes over. Limbach tends to head for space and the boundary line. Limbach's set-shots have improved to the point where he is a 50-50 prospect in front of the sticks, but still needs work.

The Limbach=Kingsley comparison is a good one for mine. Ram it down his throat and he will get you 60 goals a year. Ask him to create chances for hismself, kick it to others, or be a bit iffy with your delivery and he is a 30 goal full-forward with no defensive qualities.

With regard to McGuane, there have been some big wraps on him. I think it was David Schwarz who said he thought he "moved a lot like Richo" but then also said he might be a bit silkier than Richo. I've not yet seen enough of him to make my own call.
 
Going to be pretty tough for Dean to stay on the list, he's going to need a big season. Still so many forwards in front of him, with likely more coming. Still needs to put on a lot of bulk. Has good spring and seems to move fast enough, but as Weaver said he's not the contested marking type so leads to space which is usually wide, and his goal kicking isn't good enough to make that worthwhile.

Hopefully will bulk up a lot over the off-season and also work on fitness, I'd say there isn't really a place in our side for a purely leading FF like him, he would need to reinvent himself and perhaps play a similar role to Pettifer to survive. Luckily for him there were enough other 'easy' delisting decisions made this year.
 
I dont really think much of Limbach either at the moment and dont really think he'll make it. His second efforts are so poor, a bit like Hughes. Could be a bit to do with body weight and confidence though.

McGuane will be quite good I think. He's one of the best Richmond listed players at Coburg, thats not saying much, but he still goes in and gives it a fair crack. Has to be a backman at the moment for Richmond though because he's not the best infront of the sticks. Hes a good grab though.
 
He's an unknown quantity in many respects, he seems to be several different heights, but at least we know for sure he can lead! IMO I think next year is his last if he can't crack into the side on a relatively consistent basis which I don't think is achievable for him.

I hope he proves me wrong because a third talented young forward and we'd be laughing.
