Dean Polo and Mark Coughlan have to play in Round 1. If we have in hope in winning against Carlton the cheats. We need these two players in our midfield, to clear the ball very quickly.

We must play these 2 in the middle if we are serious about winning the midfield because we have a big edge everywhere else on the ground. We should win the midfield if we actually use the players that belong there. Foley and Tuck need quality support. I'll be very disappointed if Polo and Coughlan are not named tomorrow night

I imagine Dean Polo will play, and if he doesn't, you would have to wonder if perhapes he's still unfit or he's out of favour within the club.

As for Coughlan, Terry Wallace suggested that he wouldn't play this aftertoon, but another poster here reckons Cogs folks have already bought plane tickets for the trip over:confused:

Polo sounds ready to go, but Cogs will take a few games in the seniors before he returns to his pre-injury form. Much the same situation with Judd IMO.

Where did Plough say that? Said he was in the mix and the club had to make a decision on whether he's had enough match practise to get back out there.

I don't think Cogs will play which is disappointing. Haven't seen him out there for 2 years, I just want to see him in there playing footy.
I'd rather wait a few weeks to see him when he is strong and confident than see him get knocked around or worse, re-injured, this week. Every week he plays with Coburg he is under a bit less pressure as he gets stronger.

Maybe due to fintness this week is too soon for both but asap, we need to get these 2 in the mid-mix to replace the likes of Johnson & Tivendale.
As captain, Johnson will get games but shift him to a back flank or pocket.
Tivendale? I haven't been a serial bagger but his time has come. Transition during the year from best 22 to back-up experienced player to bring in due to injury etc...

Polo & Coggs fit and fireing are vital "coggs" for the future...

The fact that Polo and Cogs aren't playing will even up this match. That's a big chunk of our midfield. We will have to get Lids and Newman in the middle to help out tomorrow night so we make use of our forward and defence strengths
