Haven't been online here in a fair while, but always was a fan of you around various boards. Great to hear you're on the road to recovery! Keep up the good fight mate.
This is a post worth spamming "like" for!

Gosh Im not sure how I missed this entire thread, as I dont miss much on our forum. Though the OP in May, may be a reason why.

I only heard about the news literally only recently. Hope everything is going well Deaneus!

I have said many times before all of this, the best laughs I had ever on BF was trolling Carlton and its posters, that cared so deeply what we post on OUR forum.

What the hell is this?

Oh yeah, now I remember.

Hi everyone,

I'm sick. And by sick, i mean very sick. And by very sick, i mean get my affairs in order as soon as ******* possible.

I will fight for as long as I can, but I want you to all know I had a happy life, with amazing friends, a wonderful partner, and a beautiful dog.

Being a member of this board was great fun, and I had a blast. Especially carding Carlton trolls he he he.

I met a lot of great people, and i have a warm affection for you all. Please relive my memory by looking up my Brisbane face-off threads, they were fun.

All_In fuddrooster you have my permission to tell some of the crazy stories about my life afterwards.

All the best everyone
deaneus
Stay strong mate, we're barracking for you. Always, always remember how much your family loves you.

DON'T DIE DEANEUS, I NEVER GOT TO LEARN HOW TO PRONOUNCE YOUR NAME :sob:

For real though, you're amazing. Your humour and positive attitude throughout such a shitty situation is something I'll remember and always look up to

Woah. Best of luck Deaneus! with your recovery.

And I cant believe I haven't seen this thread until now.

i reckon I saw the title a few months back and figured it was probably a thread with posters complaining about one of our mods so I skipped past it. I won’t make that mistake again (unless it’s a thread about Drugs Are Bad Mackay? then it will probably be for that purpose...:p)

the steroid I'm on to reduce brain swelling seems to have a few side effects, being

- my mouth's natural resting state tastes like wholemeal bread
- i get the hiccups randomly
- sleep is crazy. yesterday i fell asleep at 8.30pm, slept til midnight, then was awake until 5.30am, then slept until 7am, and I've been up since!
OK, just saw the above. Bread-mouth. Hiccups. <== proof of life! ;) :heavycheck:

Your insomnia sounds like what I've had for the last 3 months or so, but for different reasons (have a look at some of my weird posting-times). Crappy sleep pattern is also proof-of-life, but a pain, right?

How've you been going, mate? Really well, I hope.
Got an update for us all, please? :)

Sure!

- I’m still retired
- I got a whopping great payout for my life insurance
- We bought a place in Kensington to downsize to, so we’re panicking about storage because we’re both hoarders
- Physically I’m mostly good as I got off the steroids, my right side is weak but I’m left handed so suck it tumor!
- Chemo is not as fun as people make out
- We have the appointment tomorrow with the specialist to see what’s happening, if chemo’s working, whether i should make Xmas plans or not kinda thing
- I continue in my strenuous efforts to get ice cream registered as a food group. In fact, I might have a big ol’ bowl of chocolate during the match. I’ll post it in the game day thread

Popping in to wish you all the best, glad that the Crows have given some joy too!
Ice - cream is definitely a food group, in fact it’s pretty much on top of the pyramid I reckon.
Keep smiling, stay strong and good luck with the new place 👍🏻

I have a few vices, the biggest one of them is the penchant for ice cream. Im a junkie. Im just fortunate that I can exercise it off.

Glory be. I literally can smash gourmet ice cream.

Ive comfortably put away 1L ice creams without even trying. I wonder if I could do a 2L. I think if I was binge watching a TV series I enjoyed or a movie marathon, I could do it comfortably.

Ahh ice cream. I crush pretzels and sprinkle them over the top, then drizzle melted peanut butter and chocolate sauce over that.

If you're going to live - live.

The following quotes explain sooooo much :smirk::

A shot of Port in a creamy vanilla ice cream is bliss.....
GROTTO , smashing ONE litre would be an achievement, but TWO litres?? Really? Still, it's a worthwhile ambition.
Jarmayhem , PRETZELS?? On ice cream?? (but thanks for the tip about melted peanut butter ...)

Geoffa32 --- "a shot" huh? Just the one, right? Mine's a 'glug' of (Tawny) Port --- Grandfather, if I am feeling low :drunk: --- with some of those bittersweet preserved cherries ;) .

Do let us know if you end up in a diabetic coma after eating 2L of ice cream in a movie marathon..

I have faith in you Grotto. Shoot for the stars bud. Hey Deanus make the Chemo work and just think once you are better you will be able to try and out do Grotto's gourmet ice cream challenge. :thumbsu:

Im treating the Dark Knight Trilogy as my 2020 Grand Final and will undertake the 2L ice cream challenge.

Goes for around ~8 hours. Might need to use an IV drip to get the last 500ml of ice cream into me.
