Why we will not improve whilst you continue to allow the following to happen....

Slow Ball movement when we have control of the game.

- Its allows the opposition to re-group.
- It creates a mindset and the players start playing conservatively allowing the opposition to start building the pressure on our ball movement and gives them the ascendancy.
- When we move the ball quick... WE SCORE.

Allowing players berating team mates on the ground

- Not acceptable.... "you win together you lose together". It shows frustration and gives the opposition a leg up. Deledio on Conca... TY a couple of times.... Make a stand and drop a player

Continually kicking the ball to the forward pockets

- You need to get the player to back them selves.... continually kicking to the pockets is the easy way out. WE HAVE TO WIN THE GAME.... not hold the ball up. Back our defence to do their job and back the forwards to kick a winning score. Kick to the dangerous part of the forwardline more.... especially when we are in a winning position.

Poor Body Language

- 4 goals up and we have players dropping their heads... not good enough. WHY give the opposition a sniff????

Leadership

- Brazil was obviously a waste of money???? I'd be looking to bring in more experienced players from successful clubs.... Chapman would have been handy??? why didnt we chase him?

Your Leadership

- You need someone to critique your self in the box.... you need to be the "calm" one. Your own body language is contagious .... you need to control your emotions. The impression is that you give to me is a person little Idea of what is happening, no control and you are hoping rather than trying to work out a plan to stem the tide. You need to Make stuff happen. Thats what MM has done in the last 4 games he has come up against you.....

My 2c on why we slow play down: I think our gameplan is focused on a massive burst early on in the game hence why we slow down eventually. Can't really be helped as you can't just change a gameplan over night.

Run hard offensively, opposition chases just as hard defensively.. if our gameplan works how it should, we should have broken the game apart a bit. We're tired from offensive run, opposition is just as tired from defensive run but are behind causing an uphill battle like tonight's game.

That's how I see it anyway

Again its a poor plan when you cant win a game 6 goals up..... then try and ice the game. ..... another dope the rope performance by MM.

We won the game FFS. Yes it was poor but we beat a team that has it over us big time. Take the 4 pts and move on. I'd rather be 1-1 than 0-2.
Yeh until we meet next time for the fifth time.

We don't learn and he mentioned after the ef he wouldn't change anything.

Guess what it happened again. Just they couldn't kick straight.

Major head in the sand going on here.

Dear nut,

Please STFU. We won the game.

Cheers

You think what I said was harsh??? WOW>

so you happy to watch another 3 years of that???? against a side that was severely under done... We might have got the 4 points but all things considered Carlton won the night with that performance. ....... This is the 4th time it has happened.... and it happened exactly the same. fool me once... fool me twice... fool me three times.... fool me four times....????? fool me???? how does that riddle go??

OK, i'll give you some arguments despite the absolutely hilarious call of calm in the coaching box and then lauding Mick Malthouse who spits 8 gallons of water per game.

If you noticed when we were winning we had fast ball-movement. Slow ball movement is when we're trying to wrestle back momentum.
Allowing players to berate team mates? Didn't see anything of the sort.
Continually kicking the ball to the forward pockets? Hello? Do you watch football Nut? It's a much safer option late in the game when we have the lead then to kick it to the hot-spot and risk an easy-counter attack.
Poor body language and leadership? Problems we need to address. Paul Chapman? You'll get 8 games out of him before his hamstrings snap. Chappy is hardly someone renowed for his leadership either.

Dear Nut
Thank you for your letter. RFC_ Official should be out of traction by about June and the rehab will take around 6 months by which time he may be able to feed himself. He asked that, next time, would you mind delivering the message yourself?
Regards
Damien

Damien do you have the ability to learn and change?

Hello what??? We kick to the pockets 90% of the time.... we try and score from stoppages.

Dimma deserves a lot of praise and credit for how far he's taken us and how he's turned the list around BUT that doesn't mean he's the man for the job to guide us through the next step (top 4, winning finals).

The fact there's still the same issues a few years on has me believing he's not the right coach. Some of his selections and positional changes are down right baffling. That's been an issue from early days.

Most of all the game plan in which I agree with you nut is rubbish and is not conducive for top 4 football as well as his inept match day coaching.

We get murdered on the turnover by any half decent team that can spread, overlap and run us off feet given the way we like to zone and structure up. The most frustrating thing which hasn't changed is the hit and hope long bombs into f50 that rely on miracle marks in huge packs to produce goals in a structure-less forward line.

Watch Geelong, Hawthorn and co. They move the ball in waves and consistently spot up short targets for easy shots. We don't especially when we slow the ball down and kick it long down the line when we hit the front as nut pointed out. When we start that crap our scoring dries up.

Dear Dimma!
For Christmas i would love a quick small forward that can kick goals so opposition fans can hate them when they burn off everyone as much as I hated yarran and gartlett tonight!
Stay passionate I really enjoyed how we vented our frustrations together at the players stupid acts that neither of us can control I think it helped!
But I can't believe that your game plan isn't 100% perfect and we haven't won both games by 100 points! Seriously it's rnd 2 why isn't it perfect! You're such a bad coach we should just go chase kevin sheedy...
Seriously people! You want perfection in round 2 you need to take your heads out of your asses!
