This loss is even worse than the Geelong loss last year. I disagree on Goodes being the best in the league though. I could name at least 30 players i would rather have on my team than Goodes.

I agree. Give him his 5 years, see how we end up at the end of next season. If we do not make the 8 piss him off. Starting to loose it with him, Hawks were we were a few years ago, and look at them.

I've always been supportive of Terry because we need stability at the club and we need to show that coaches will be given time to turn us around. We've done that now with Frawley and Wallace. I agree that if we don't make the 8 next year, Wallace will go.

I maintain our list is coming together (except we need a big forward to help Jack out) but the thing that really concerns me is the obvious lack of focus on tackling pressure in all of Wallace's teams. The Bulldogs were right down the bottom of the tackle count when he was there and now so are we. And at the moment all the talk in footy is about the importance of tackling pressure - just look at how the Pies beat the Cats. Tackle, pressure, make people turn the ball over because in today's game, if you let people run free, they'll hit targets and chop you up.

I'll call it now - if we win 8 games this year, Wallace stays. Any less, then pay him out and get the guy the Bombers should have taken (and will regret not taking)... Damien Hardwick.

3 That the coach wouldn't play hyde all day on the matchwinner goodes
4 That we might learn after the 73rd time not to hold on at stoppages
5 That the team might occassionally hit a target
6 That he wouldn't leave Pattison deep defence on Everitt
7. That the side would be remotely competitive

So, yes it has put the club back five years as it was the same old crap dealt up.

You have no idea seriously to say that loss has set us back 5 years is a joke in itself. Yes it was not a good game however to have 14 players out there of a possible 22 that have played under 100 games shows were a young side. Young sides at times will have these sort of games. The only thing disfraceful here is clearly you

Just in case you forgot our game style had changed after the Collingwood game. There for from the freo game onwards i am judgeing this on. Patterson I dont think is up 2 it and i never will. Playing him on everitt really got to me. We lost the game with Hyde on goodes I agree with you there 100%. However to say this loss has put us back 5 years seriously thats laughable to say that and clearly wrong.

One bad game. While there is anger over the way some players performed - especially those I have seen doing the same poor things for years on end (that would be Hyde and Pettifer!), no real reason to be furious or angry.
As I alluded to in the thread on David Parkin on the Tigers board, I was half anticipating we would get smashed. I was hopeful we would be competitive or maybe even sneaka win, but reality told me the Swans' gameplan and one on one football would bring us undone. Ditto for the SCG. We play our best football on bigger grounds! The likes of Riewoldt, Edwards, Cotchin, White and Moore haven't played a lot of football, nor really have Thursfield, King, Pattison, Tambling or Deledio for that matter. A group like that are going to slip up from time to time.

And FFS, the reigning premiers copped a hiding two weeks ago froma team that was smashed by Hawthorn a few weeks prior. Teams have those type of days. We had one Sunday!

The fact that we were competitive against the Cats for all but one quarter, nearly beat the Hawks (although would have been undeserved) and had the Bulldogs on toast and should have won would suggest we are getting there, but not quite there yet. As such, we played as a team like that should have.

It's no coincidence to me we fared well against the Bulldogs and not the Swans. They are a similar team to us...quick, no real tall forwards and not an overly tall or muscly backline. The Swans are a different kettle of fish. Bigger bdoes will alwsys have their way with us as Geelong showed in the third quarter against us.

Hyde 184cm, 80 Kgs - Can only play HF if anywhere and has been struggling

6ft 4inch vs 6ft and an extra 20Kgs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Richmond players were slow in picking up the ball from the ground, trying not to slip over whilst Swans players were playing dry weather footy!
