HOW DARE YOU SAY DISLOYAL!

BIGGEST LOAD OF ****!

IF ANYTHING WE HAVE 20,000 LOYAL FANS WHO WILL COME EVERY WEEK RAIN, HAIL OR SHINE BECAUSE OF THEIR LOVE AND DEVOTION TO THE MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB IN AUSTRALIA WHICH HAS BEEN AROUND FOR THE LAST 140 YEARS.

We have the odd 7,000 who turn up. (they weren't there yesterday)

We have 20,000 who turn up come finals - the bandwagoners.

and also we have about 330,000 fans around Australia.

AAMI STADIUM Is out in bloody nowhere while you have the Telstra dome (WHICH HAS A ROOF!) and the MCG in the heart of Melbourne!

We compete against a team combined of eight other clubs (nine including Port Adelaide) who have the slogan "The Team For All South Australians"

If your not with Port Adelaide every body else hates us.

And let me remind you Vics before the crumbling VFL had to make the ridiculous AFL, In the SANFL Port Adelaide had the biggest supporter base In SA. The biggest crowd at Footy Park (AAMI) had been a Port home game against Sturt of around 68,000.

Look my point is, I am loyal. I will always be there to see Port Adelaide.\

There are also another 20,000 who will also see Port Adelaide.

We have to take the Good with the Bad and for us Port fans there have been a lot more Good than the Bad.

In our SANFL History:
34 premierships (36 if including 98 and 99)
4 times Champions Of AUSTRALIA
Countless Final appearances
6 in a row Premierships

In Our Short AFL History:
2 Grand Final Appearances
1 Premiership
7 Final Appearances (I think-maybe 8)
3 minor premierships
2 night premierships

We are one of the most underrated teams. And for just one club which only has 2000 SANFL members to have 34,000 AFL members is a fine achievement.

Do you actually believe this bullshit? Seriously, do you sit around and circle jerk over your greatness? You long history? How loyal and above it all you really are?

While I'm certain there is more than a couple of you out there who have the correct number of chromosomes, the vast majority are just like this genius.

Firstly, if you have 330,000 supporters how come you can't make more than a couple of grand a year profit? If even half of these are paid members I would think you might actually have a bit of coin in the coffers.

To blame poor attendance on the location of AAMI stadium is ludicrious when you consider that the Crows also play there. Believe it or not, when the Crows play there they don't get a handful of trucks, tie some snatch straps to the light posts and skulldrag that ____er to a better location. People actually get in these new fan-dangled things call cars and drive there. Others catch a bus which is kind of like a car and looks amazingly similar to the thing that takes you to Centerlink once a fortnight to lodge your forms.

Also- I take major exception to the last comparison of your long and short term history. YOU DO NOT HAVE A LONG HISTORY. YOU ARE NOT THE PORT ADELAIDE MAGPIES FOOTBALL CLUB. Why do you have a hard time understanding this? I think as the Adelaide Football Club is a generic conglomerate of the SANFL we should be able to lay claim to every premiership ever one by every club within said competition.

Therefore I declare the Mighty Adelaide Camry Crows (The Team For All South Australians) the winners of the most Premierships in the history of Australian Rules Football and indeed the Universe. ____ it, get Vlad on the phone and cancel the rest of the season- we've got it in the bag thanks to our illustrious history.

And do your worst- we are a middle of the road team that unless the moons align won't win a premiership in the next ten years- but at least our coach hasn't declared our season over before the split round. Apparently, he's going to repay our loyalty by putting his best team on the part and attempting to win the game with his limited gameday talents. I hear football supporters kind of like this thing and maybe if you gave it a try it might actually result it the 310,000 supporters trying to make it to the game.

It worked for the Mighty Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club. A proud football club with over a hundred years of history, 30 odd premierships and loathed by everyone outside of that club for their success.

Unlike you lot who are despised for being a pack of car theiving, wife beating w***ers. The only thing you exist for is to give me something to rant about. I'm so ____en sure of it. I'm posting on Bay 13 so obviously I'm that important that the powers that be would build a 'club' just for me to target my frustrations at.

You ____en bunch of _____.

thanks for telling US all what OUR clubs all about.

____en __________.

in truth noone gives a shit about your pathetic little opinion. we know what we are and dont need to be told by you.

unless your happy to take my advice that you are nothing more than a franchise joke that only exists BECAUSE of Port??? you happy with that?

oh and im sure you were proudly announcing you were a centrals supporter 10 years ago were ya??

You cared enough to reply though so thanks for that.

And as for me supporting the Dogs- always been proud of where I came from and have supported them no matter where I was in the world. I remember the PAMFC knocking us off and the way the supporters treated us. We've just grown up now. And your mob lost their teeth.

Longer than 10 years mate- probably just under 20. And I'll support them for the next twenty win lose or draw.

Oh- and every club starts somewhere. Adelaide started as a business that we'll build into a club. As opposed to your mob looking to ride the PAMFC bandwagon.

what bandwagon?? just supporting Port Adelaide like i have my whole life, and always will. whereas you had to band together with the rest of the Port-hating state to form your "beloved AFC" :o

what the quoted person said is true. most of it anyway.

the 20,000 loyal supporters + bandwagoners.

the location of aami.

if you're not with port, then you hate us, because the crows fans are made up of people supporting the 8/9 other sanfl teams

you are the 'team for all south australians'

and it's very true that our club has had plenty of success in both the sanfl and afl (despite there also being much pain, especially come finals time in the afl).

So you support both the Power and the Magpies?

Will you admit that the Port Power have won one premiership? The Magpies 34?

They are a ____ing joke aren't they. Good god, they choke, they can't get fans, and their actual 'real' fans consist mostly of criminals and dead set ____en ******s.

How on earth are they going to improve their situation?

Could they perhaps move home ground and put 5 year bans on their existing members and try and start fresh in the hope of actaully getting some decent supporters.

Or should they simply keep blodering along, dropping crowd numbers and respect.

Its dire, not Fremantle, St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, North Melbourne or Melbourne dire.

But dire none the less.

what the quoted person said is true. most of it anyway.

Care to elaborate?

And I support the Crows because they are South Australian.

I don't support the Power because I am a Dogs supporter. If they had called that team anything other that Port Adelaide and drew no links to the Magpies I probably would have gone that way. Especially as they are a more northern representation.

I'm not sure I agree with this- atleast those clubs haven't called the season off.

Adelaide Crows seem to be obsessed with Port Adelaide!

I cannot believe how big the obsession is!

Compared to the mighty cats you are both pathetic

Nah lets be honest.

AAMI is a shithole. The drop in attendances for BOTH teams can be attributed to this. Begs the question. Why the ____ are they pumping over $100m into it. Its balls.

@Pavillion

What did you think this thread was going to be about? I dare so you have lost your way- clicked the wrong link perchance?

Run along sunshine. Surely there's a thread about Hawthorn for you to obsess over.

Sing when you're winning.

People used to watch football when you used to have to stand in the rain.

Don't be so precious.

If AAMI was the very definition of luxury the Power still wouldn't draw a crowd.

Careful King Treadrea- he'll be accusing us both of having a Geelong obsession next.

Those are days gone by now.

AAMI is in a shithole. No doubts about it. This would put of MANY people who want to do something other then devoting a whole night/day to watching a football game in that hell hole.

Perhaps so- Dyertribe did direct me to a post with some pretty relevant facts. However, it still does not mean that a better location would equal massive crowds to Port games. They would increase marginally, as would Crows crowds.

Honestly, what is the big difference? People will argue all days but I believe it has a lot to do with the Port label. They are / were the most hated team in the SANFL and most people carried a lot of team loyalty prior to the AFL licenses- it's hard to throw that away.

Others will argue that it might be different had the Power been the first team in the AFL.

I guess social and ecconomic facts might play a part aswell- attending an AFL game isn't cheap. Saying you support Port is free. That's not having a go at the less fortunate but I believe it could contribue to the big divide between the 330,000 supports and the 20,000 that show up at games.

Port has an image problem and I don't think anything is going to be able to fix it. As pointed out the Crows have the luck of being presented as a 'state' side.

in conclusion Port is ____ed and say Hello to the Hobart Thunder.

:thumbsu:

It was wrong from the start to give Port the license. Adelaide was never big enough for two teams and the second team was always going to struggle.

Being born and linked to Port made it the equivilent of a red headed step son.

Of course, of course. You are not bandwagoners. Not at all, not at all.

Instead of lining your dream of obsessing about Port Adelaide constantly, can you tell me why, in 18 glorious years of AFL, Adelaide's highest crowds were in 1993?
Or why your crowds have also shown a clear downward trend since 2003?

Instead of lining your dream of obsessing about Port Adelaide constantly, can you tell me why, in 18 glorious years of AFL, Adelaide's highest crowds were in 1993?
Or why your crowds have also shown a clear downward trend since 2003?

Please have a look at the stats below:
Adelaide's regular season home attendances stats
Power's regular season home attendances stats

Adelaide's crowds are hovering at the 41k mark in 2008 which is about average for us.

However, the stats clearly show that Port's crowds have shown a 'clear downward trend' since 1997.

In 1997, Port averaged 35,000 to their home games. In 2008, the figure is less than 25k. How can anyone go from averaging 35k to under 25k? Unbelievable. Shocking. Disgraceful!

The worst thing (or best thing depending on how you look at it) about it is that supporters such as you refuse to admit there's a problem. If you don't admit there's a problem, how are you going to fix it?

With 50000+ members and the SA market cornered.

With 33500 members. OMG! etc.

Do we need to grow our membership base - by getting casuals and non-ticketed Port supporters to sign on first and foremost, rather than this misguided TAFE Marketing 101 mentality from you lot that says rebrand? Sure.

But do both SA clubs have a members-to-attendance blackhole of 8-12k?

Yuh-huh.

Ok great. You've convinced me. There's no problems with attendances whatsover for Port. Everything is all hunky dory down there. After all they have 20,000 loyal supporters who go to games rain, hail or shine, making plenty of noise.

And in 2009, you can brag to us about your 17,000 loyal supporters who go to games rain, hail or shine, making plenty of noise.

And in 2010, you can brag to us about your 15,000 loyal supporters who go to games rain, hail or shine, making plenty of noise.

And in 2011, you can brag to us about your 12,000 loyal supporters who go to games rain, hail or shine, making plenty of noise.

And in 2015, you can brag to us about your 2,000 loyal supporters who go to games rain, hail or shine, making plenty of noise.

Do you deliberately misinterpret coherent thought or are you just not that bright? Where did I so much as infer there is nothing wrong with Port's attendance?

Don't scroll back up, I'll repeat the key points:

Do we need to grow our membership base - by getting casuals and non-ticketed Port supporters to sign on first and foremost, rather than this misguided TAFE Marketing 101 mentality from you lot that says rebrand? Sure.

This phenomenon isn't limited to Port Adelaide - Adelaide have the exact same problem with gameday no-shows, but obviously, obviously, have the greater numbers to cover it, but the gap is exactly the same. Therefore, this problem is a problem for both clubs. Is it AAMI? Is it timeslots? Is it live against the gate? Is it a mixture of factors? But, it's a problem we both share.

All bullshit aside. Do you understand?
