Where do we play Fraser Gehrig!?!?!

Full Back? He plays great football there! Kept Neitz to 2 goals, 4 touches. Both of the Rocca's to nothing, no goals, couldnt get a touch! Killed Kouta and kicked a goal on him (although, kouta lacked game fitness).
Full Forward? He can be very damaging there! Always out marking his opposition unless 2 are on him... then that will leave Hamill to run lose!
Centre?
Interchange? Yes.... there are a lot of Gehrig haters out there! Sadly :(

Personally, I love the guy! So glad we have him! Players like him don't grow on trees! If this guy plays at least 20 rounds next year fit (like 2001), he will be in our top 3 players.
Big Fras can also win us games! For example, the freo game at craptus ovel! Very happy to have him on board! I read that he went into hospital on grand final day for his hip injury, and will be ready by round 1! I doubt he will play in the pre-season.

GO SAINTS!

jamie

welcome aboard...i reckon damian should just give up and tell everyone to use this board, hasn't crashed on me yet.

as for your love affair with big frase, i think with penny in the side, frase should be released to play up forward. he could easily kick 70+ goals and be a real focal point the way richo is at the tiges.

anyway, great to see you and stikman here.

noticed you jumped on board alongside some other sainters... :)

This is a great board, we've got our own club forum and the main one which is always flaming... Keep an eye out and hopefully we'll get our old saints.com.au forum back so we can talk to G.T etc.. again.. ;)

I'd love to release Fraser up forward and yes his value went down this year but with an uninjured preseason, look out!..

Thought I might as well register as there's not much else happening elsewhere and I have been a reader of BigFooty for a while!!!!!

Gehrig sure is a fine player. Hopefully he's over his bad injury run and we'll see more fine footy. I think his best footy is in defence, but he could make a decent forward.

As for the Gehrig knockers, just remember when he was on the market how many top coaches were after him. Footy people rate the bloke very highly.

If the likes of Penny, Koschitzke and Hudghton are able to hold down the key defensive positions I see no reason why Fraser shouldn't be released into a more attacking role. He's shown that he can take a grab and kick a goal when playing down forward. Any eagles supporter will tell you how damaging he can be in full flight. Ultimately it depends on what Grant Thomas and the coaching staff want. A defender who rarely gets beaten or a potential match-winning forward.

Welcome to all the saints fans from saintsational.

It's a tough one. It really depends on where GT plays Kosi and what our injury situation is like. I suppose the strength of our side is versatility. We have Riewoldt, Koschitzke, Penny and Gehrig who can play very effectively at both ends of the ground. I'd expect that there would be a lot of chopping and changing going on through out the year, determined by which teams we play and what match-ups work best. The line-up i'd like to see is -

B: Lawrence, Hudghton, Penny
HB: Begley, Koschitzke, Schwarze
C: Jones, Hayes, Black
HF: Hamill, Riewoldt, Ball
F: Milne, Gehrig, Burke

R: Capuano, Harvey, Thompson
Int: Baker, Dal Santo, Clarke, Maguire, Brooks, Moyle, No.3 pick, etc. I can't split all these interchange players, which is a good thing as it should result in a more competitive fight for a place in the 22.

There will probably be a lot of chopping and changing going on throughout the game!!!! I'd try for Penny, Hudghton and Maguire down back leaving Kosi, Nick and Fraser forward. From there go with the match ups.

195cm Gehrig is the bench press king
195cm Riewoldt the ultra mobile big man
197cm Koschitztke somewhere in between but with greater reach.

Whoever gets the 3rd defender goes back to the goalsquare, much like GT did with Riewoldt on Bruce in rd 22. Bizzell then gets Riewoldt, move Kosi to FF etc

I'd love to see Kosi cement a place at CHF as I see him as a Kernahan type. Very similar type of player but with better skills.

Hamill is also waiting in the wings, freeing one to go back if the defense is struggling.

Apparently Kosie has grown to 201cm but the club has kept quiet about this. Can anyone confirm this? I was informed that Kosie had another growth spurt and shot up another 3-5cm!

Yeah, I also heard that Danny Craven had grown 3 to 5cm and would be picked up as the ruck coach at St.kilda now that he stands 167cm.....

Hah, just jokin'!!!!!

I'd be guessing at the very most 199cm

Though add 2 centimetres to this photo and you may not be that far off.

I have heard 5cm, I have also heard 3cm. My guess is that Kosie would be 199cm too. Just what we need to be running around the half back line. Nothing will get passed Kosie!
What a great line up! Can't wait to see next years team photo minus Everitt!
