We don't look like we have any where near the defensive structure (and I'm talking across the ground) that we had last year when we conceded the third fewest points in the league.

The man in charge of our defensive structures last year was Ross Smith (who is an expert in this area). This year Smith's role has moved to being just the defence to cover Leppas departure, meaning we've lost his presence in this role.

I believe this is a major contributing factor to our lack of structure so far this year. Discuss.

You're probably right. It's hard to know as a supporter how much it effects the group.

A lot of our players look lazy and disinterested. Doesn't really matter on what structure that is, they don't seem hungry enough or fit enough.

It feels like we have an uncrowded backline coupled with a crowded forward line. We are all ass about.
Yet somehow we can never keep the ball IN the forward line, or never get it OUT of the backline. Happy days :drunk:

No I disagree. Surely since he is still there they haven't forgotten anything they didn't already learn? Or the fact that he notices errors but doesn't say anything? No that's bollocks. what the problem is, is our mids cant win the ball, run and carry or split lines to save ourselves. No defence can hold that at all.

Agreed. Our actual defence seems to stand up alright, with the main FF not kicking many goals against us, nut around the ground and when oppositions mids go forward we have been horrible in defence.

The boundary umpires bring it out for us. Generous of them. :D

Yep. Once again majority of goals coming from opposition mids.

Get rid of Vickery - Dad and Son and half our problems are solved.

Our team walks off the field and they look like they could run another 5kms.

Give EVERYTHING you f**king bluggers.

Lazy and soft are the 2 words I would use to describe this team.

For accepting this and creating this environment - this coach must go.

Our defensive structures IS OUR PROBLEM.... they are preventing us from moving the ball quick into to our forwardline. They are allowing the opposition time to get back and defend.... Our mids arent working hard enough on the rebound.
