Amazing to read some of the comments attached to that article, what a bunch of uneducated flogs! I doubt many of the negative posters have actually watched Lid's play the game. His attack on the ball could never be questioned and his hardness went up a level for me after the elbow hyper-extension against the swans, only to return to the field and help get us across the line. This is not the behaviour of a soft footballer, this is an good example of a young man that is deeply entrenched in our football clubs future and wants to be out there contributing to our success whenever he can, even when medically shouldn't be.
Lids could successfully play a Hodge type role for our club, setting up forward thrusts from the backline (already doing that one well), with bursts in the midfield (already shown he is more than capable) and forward line (already shown he is capable of this also).
He will win another Jack Dyer medal for mine this year, and is definately one of our most valuable players going forward due to his versatility.
I bloody glad he is tiger, because if he wasn't he would be one of those players you admire from a far and wish he was ours.
 
That's good, hardly a headline though. Deledio wants to be like the best player in the league. Good.

Nobody knows anything about Deledio though, there are hundreds on this forum still saying he isn't showing enough and he could be named as another draft blunder.

hodge is not the best player in the leage! he is the best half bank flanker in the league though with that extra roaming role. definately top 5 player in the league.
 
When Lids came into the league he wanted to play like the best player at the time, Judd. Now he wants to be like Hodge, who is killing it at the moment. In a couple of years time, I reckon he will want to be like Dustin Martin ;-).

He is, IMO, the best player in the league. Easily the most rounded and dominant in so many facets of the game.
 
In my mind it was dimmas first BIG tick to get the utmost from the prodigious talent in Lids, he can run, kick, mark and evade as well as anyone in the competition...Now we are seeing him put it together week in week out and like ALL champion elite athletes, he knows he's got it. Watch how he ALWAYS performs against Hawthorn..I reckon it irks him constantly that Franklin has been tagged as the prize from the 04 draft...Not in my eyes, Lids has taken his game to another level...should be one of the first picked in AA and squarely amongst Top 10 players in the league

deledio is pretender and he is the best you have so i would say the rest are pretenders too

LOL at least when my club peaks WE WIN PREMIERSHIPS and when your club peaks it comes 9th HAHAHAHAHAHA

Lids is no pretender, unlike half your team.

Good luck with Fev next year also. With a bit of luck you might get 50 goals out of him, if he decides to put the effort in.
