Deledio

Oh god, Murphy and Deledio are both very fine players and comparing them is irrelevant, as they are still very young, both 18 years old so they can and will get better. Richmond is rapt to have a player like Deledio which suits our game plan and Murphy fits Carlton's game plan as well.

and at least murphy can spend a whole game playing in the midfield rather than getting tired and going on a flank or on a wing.
Maybe he's not working hard enough. Even the elite midfielders need a rest during the game.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7-X459oetw a few deledio moments for you to peruse murph#3. apologies for the music not even a carlton supporter deserves to hear that.

i've already watched that before mate, and as i said before i have nothing against deledio i model myself upon him i absolutely love him its just that i believe murphy is a better player and im entitled to my opinion just as you are to yours. its really a stupid argument as both players (barring major injuries) will be absolute champions for their clubs and at the end of their careers im sure both clubs supporters will still feel they had the better player.

murphy? not working hard enough?

after that statement, anything you say from now on will just be ignored by me. that post had absolutely no credibility at all.

Oh no. My sole reason for posting here has just been cruelly robbed from me.

That's going too far Richo83, insulting a young player like that.

Excactly Judd often needs a rest when hes playing, he never plays a full game.

I also think you will find in the corresponding game against West Coast at Subi. Deledio was tagged by Adam Selwood, who ended up with more possies, whilst Murphy was given West Coast's best Tagger Tyson Stenglien, who could not stop Murphy's impact.

This could be the fact that Stenglien has had a year to scout Deledio and how he plays, could also be the fact of how each of the players play the game.

I say we should push Lids into the mid-field. He has loads of talent and I fear that it is being wasted playing on the half back and half forward lines. Would I be correct in saying that he had OP this year?

Two completely different players, Murphy will be very very good at what he does, get the ball out of the bottom of packs, Deledio has other assets to utilise like his speed and overhead marking ability. I'd rather Lids, has a lot more tools no one can deny that, and for those pinheads who think hes an athlete then a footballer, he's actually very highly regarded in the football brain department and always has been, plays like a general, superb reader of the play....

i think a lot of people forgot how many clangers Murphy made in his first 12 games bc of 1 or 2 standout games. Murphy is good but nothing special imo

nah no OP just a youngster who started running out of puff for 2 reasons, 1, he's had little time off over the past 2 years, last year he was involved in the IR rules so his break was short and this year he injured his knee against Geelong and whilst he only missed 1 week, his weekly training and prep i daresay would have been affected for a fair bit longer. =

i see him as a james hird type, but kind of crossed with a voss. more powerful as a midfielder than hird, but able to go forward and hold down a key post like hird. i can keep dreaming anyway! :D

lol Could not of said it better myself. Then again would not take much to be better then carlton now would it.

dont make me start on the amount of times your lot have finished 9th in the last 25 years. (the blues have won 4 premierships since then!)

Both are fine young players and will become guns. I think lids has the advantage though based on the fact he is 188 cm so therefore can go forward and be a marking option, go back or play in the middle while murph is only really a midfielder.

I see lids more as a b johnson style player and Murphy a S West. I would choose Johnson anyday of the week of West.
