Todays Addy infers that Loats is going to be one of the 4 delistings.
If so I feel yet again we might be light on for Ruck options. It also says that Smith and Allen as Rookies would be going so it may be that a young ruckman/ forward may well be listed late or as a Rookie. Ivan Maric,Stephen Foster and Earl Shaw, Shame the Footydraft site doesnt list by position or height(Does anybody have a full list of all the players over the 198)

Hope so.

King, Ottens, Mooney, Chambers, Blake and Playfair are enough options. You could argue we have only three genuine rucks (King, Ottens, Blake) but we should be pretty right. If we didn't get Ottens I would have wanted a ruckman with pick 16, not really worth drafting one now with our late picks.

What the hell?

So if Chambers isn't a genuine ruckman what is he?

A rover?

Chambers is a toiler, but a ruckman nonetheless.

I count King, Ottens, Chambers and Blake, in that order if we needed them.

Loats is injury prone, not gutsy enough and when a big man comes onto the list, a big man must leave.

why would we get rid of David Loats He is 200cm tall. He could go in our forward while King and Ottens go in the ruck. Your telling me That Mark blake is better. Mark Blake is crap. David Loats only first season with the cats and hasn't had a fair shot.

Chambers would be a genuine ruckman in the NTFA Div 2 battling it out with Old Scotch and St Pats, he is not an AFL standard ruckman.

So a bloke who has played over 20 AFL games (11 this year), is 200 cm's tall and played resonably well in most of those games is not a genuine ruckman but a first year VFL player yet to play an AFL game is???

The very fact that Chambers was selected 11 times this season makes him a genuine AFL ruckman.

No matter what you think of Chambers' ability, it doesn't change the fact he is a genuine ruckman that will provide good insurance against injury to either King or Ottens in 2005.

Getting selected doesnt mean Jack all.

Closer to 195-196 actually.

Think he is listed at 197cm, but certainly isn't taller than the likes of Graham.

Nowhere near 200cm, which is one of the issues with him.

What drugs are you on?

He is 3cm's under 200cm.

I certainly wouldn't call that "no where near" 200. I said 200 because i knew he was just under.

200-3 = 197cm. Phat's estimate of 195-196 is closer than your estimate of 200cm by your own admission read your post.

196cm could be the actual figure with rounding taking it up to 197cm.

What have you been inhaling? Your asthma pump?

What ever his height is, all I know is that the bloke is very tall, I seen him down the TAB the other week and I consider myself to be above average in height and I had to look up to see him.
It absolutely astounds me how this bloke can not get a kick, yes he has a dodgey knee but gee, if he had half the ticker of chambers he could easily take chambers spot, having said that he doesn't and even though he has only been on our list for one year, he was on Hawthorns list for 4 years ??? and they got rid of him with him not showing much.
I believe that Loats is only a backup ruckmen at best and seen as though we already have Chambers and Mooney he really has no spot in the side and will be delisted.

I give up.

If someone could please help me here that would be greatly appreciated.

What does it matter if he is a few cm's under 200?? Why are you argueing the point??

Just because he is tall it doesn't mean he can't be delisted

Peter street is tall so does that make him a good player

Not arguing at all and it doesn't matter overly, however i was merely pointing out the inaccuracy in one of the facets for your defence of Chambers.

You took it upon yourself to then hurl a lame insult about drug use, rather than simply admitting your inaccuracy and moving on.

I'll help BJ, there is no 'e' in arguing and no apostrophe in cms.
