Hawthorn Football Club has completed its initial post-season list management review.

Jordan Kelly, along with rookies Derick Wanganeen and Ben Ross have been advised they will not be offered positions on the playing list for the 2015 season.

GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan thanked the three players for their service.

“Jordan, Derick and Ben are great people, who have made a solid contribution to our Club and we wish them all the best for the future,” Fagan said.

Very safe.

Pretty much means we have a few more changes in the next week approaching :)

Still don't get this. Now we've seen the obligatory 3 senior players moved on, but still only have 2 places open for the 3 required draft pick ups?
Only one place open actually. Three out (Garlett, Sewell and Kelly). Two in
(Frawley and O'Rourke).
Others will be traded or delisted later.
Wanganeen and Ross were rookies.

1 or 2 of lowden grimley, cheeney schoey hallahan ... hence graeme wrights comments on them earlier- my translation- they are all on the table for the right price, but they all stay ( cept cheeny imo) if no decent deal can be reached

These delistings just show how good our squad actually is. None of these three players are hacks, they've just fallen off our list, and I reckon they'd survive the cull at other clubs.

Wanganeen has really improved as a player since moving to half-back. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets another chance elsewhere.

Ross was pretty much as expected, offered good depth and remained in the mix right throughout the season and when we had all those injuries he made solid contributions to a few wins coming on as the sub. This delisting doesn't surprise but retaining him wouldn't have either. Hopefully he stays at Box Hill.

Kelly's a good player but probably doesn't have any exceptional AFL qualities. He can defend and was also able to run through the middle at VFL level and be a good contributor. Maybe a sneaky chance to get picked up somewhere else but I doubt it.

Really glad Wanganeen got a debut this season. He did well to fight and win another year after '13. He can be proud of what he achieved at Hawthorn I reckon.

Good luck to all three.

so far we have

IN: Frawley, O'Rourke
OUT: Kelly, Garlett, Sewell

2 rookie spots open with Ross and Wanganeen delisted

possible trades happening in the next week:
Schoenmakers: a few clubs are keen, he prefers to stay, but HFC might make a trade anyways
Hallahan: GCS have enquired, wants to stay as well, but might be traded
Lowden: out of contract wants a trade, Doggies and a couple of others are interested(i'd prefer we keep him if at all possible)
Grimley: wants to be traded, Hawks have started talking about this option today

you would think 2 or more of those trades will be done to fulfill the 3 picks in the draft needed............i wouldn't be against any of these 4 guys moving on, Lowden is the only 1 i would love the Hawks to talk into staying, but he deserves more games than the odd 1 or 2 he will get here

Not averse to keeping Grimley myself but I get the impression it is time he is chucked in at the deep end if he is to make it as an AFL footballer and find out if he sinks or swims. He's doing the right thing looking for an opportunity elsewhere.

With Wangas gone, the dreaded #36 is available again...

I really feel embarrass when Hawks fans can't work this out...one retirement, one walks and one delisting. Equals three out. Frawley and O'Rhawk in is two. 3-2=1. How can so many of you not work out that two more need to be off loaded.
