No, that wasn't it - Sylvie would have sued the AFL for breach of contract if they replaced her with Delta.

Sylvie paladino (sp) was brilliant. Why was Delta brought in? Just why was she. It is a travesty that some budding singer was brought in to hijack it all for someone else.

I know that the spat wasn't between them but it shot themselves in the foot.

Sylvie was way better. At everything. I knew who she was. I knew she would be good.

I wasn't saying that the reason Delta didn't sing was because she sucked, I just said in the end the AFL would be glad she didn't cause she sounded terrible. I'm sure she can sing but on that occasion she was pretty ********ful.
At the end of the day though, she sure is hot.

She sang very impressively, as did Michael Buble. Having the Idol 13 sing showed why Delta and Michael are brilliant singers. They performed LIVE. The idol lot were miming the whole thing.
And as for the Delta singing the anthem - she had no idea the other girl had been booked. The AFL asked Delta, so she agreed, when she found out that Sylvia had been booked, she said she didnt want to do it, as she wouldnt take that away from someone. So, you cant blame Delta for a massive PR shamble by the AFL.
And...jokes about someone having cancer? come off it..there are things that are witty etc..but joking about someones illness? The media were in her face throughout her whole ordeal, and you think SHE asked for it?? Most of her time was spent hiding from the leeches.
Before you all start...i dont even own a Delta CD or care to say i am a "fan", i just think a lot of the comments on this thread are out of order.
PS - the whitlams played at last years GF - theyre one of my favourite bands, but not at all suited to playing in the middle of an oval like that. You need a band like Jet or Powderfinger to get some atmosphere on a day like that.

She huffed and said and used the huff and it sounded really bad. What is with the I am haustralian and Hi am You are. etc. it sounded really bad. I can't help but bitch because she is one of ours and I want her to do better. I really do. I love her to bits. But her song and singing really crack hard.

Good thing Delta didn't do the anthem because she was pretty ordinary in that song she did. Seriously, I think she needed a few extra rehearsals.
My favourite bit was when she said: "Come on everyone. Sing it with me."
Then proceeded to sing...alone, with no support from the crowd. What a loser.
