Yep and think he included Tucker in the need to perform or watch out for DeLuca. Good old Ross he hasn't got much left to threaten the players with but he still keeps them on their toes.

Really happy for Josh he has been building his body into AFL shape now with the reward of the up grade we will get to see what he brings to the table.
He has always had the weapon of speed which is why we recruited him but his skills were always in question . He IMHO has improved in that area but as to them being AFL quality we will see soon enough.

Maybe Ross should let Weller hunt the ball and be an attacking option on turnover as a high half forward. Weller surely now completed his defensive forward apprenticeship and it's time for him to play instinctive football and show what he can do. He has too much polish to be thinking to chase and defend first. If he turns into his brother who basically offers nothing but defensive pressure and the odd goal I'd be disappointed.

really don't see the advantage in upgrading Deluca to the main list at all. Unless it is purely to put a bit of heat on some of the other younger guys for their spots in the team then I am a bit confused about the whole idea. Deluca has shown near on nothing at WAFL level this year and is all but guaranteed to be delisted at the end of the year.

I watched the game against South Freo a few weeks ago and Deluca was horrendous, gave away stupid free kicks and 50m penalties showing know control what so ever.

Unless he is actually getting a game I don't see the point. The only thing I can think of it achieving is to scare some other young players in to performing a bit better or your spot is gone.

The two times I have seen Deluca on telly he seemed to me to move like an AFL player. Good size, speed and agility. Issue was his decision making and execution under pressure (looked baaaaad).

It's his second year. He was on the main list last year, so this isn't a pay rise, it's a vote of confidence in the kid. Hope he plays well tomorrow for Peel to reward the faith.

The point is we want to see whether a player who has been on our list for two years can show something at AFL level, and given we're rebuilding and have a shitload of injuries there's no better time to find that out. Makes perfect sense. Same probably goes for Mora.

I'd rather they persisted with Hannath for the rest of the season. Deluca doesn't fulfil any kind of need whereas we desperately need someone to backup Griffen.

Good on him. He's worked hard this year after a luckless first year on the list and he's steadily improved to be a very solid and consistent performer for Peel.

Still got a hell of a long way to go to keep his spot and totally prove his worth on an AFL list but it's great that he's earned the opportunity.
