Well, the Howard government is in for another term. Another revisit of the 1950's.

First time I've felt passionate enough about politics to honestly say I'm depressed about the result.

How does one deal with the fact that the Libs are in again?

Sbagman.

I'm not a either labour or liberal so I am not that fussed because I don't think there is that much difference between them.

The only real difference I can see is that Labour are spenders and Liberals are savers. Personally, with the slowing economy I think it is time for the govenrment to start to invest in the economy by increasing spending. Saving too much can be a bad move economically as you reduce the size of the economy in times of recession, which apparently we are going into. Hopefully the Libs will spend a bit more in this term now that they have had a long period of saving. I think the economy needs it.

Sbag, the most depressing thing is, it is going to get worse.
When Johnny steps down we will have the "minister for silly smirks" - Peter Costello in charge! And his deputy will probably be Tony Abbott.
Abbott and Costello in charge of the country. We will be an international laughing stock!
Except it isn't really funny is it?

Going up against 'Sour' Crean leading the Opposition.

Talk about being between the devil and the deep blue sea (no boat people jokes please).

If the most depressing thing we have to put up with is 3 more years of Howard, then we've got it pretty damn easy then.

One look at the series of photos of the torture and execution of the Taliban soldier on page 9 of today's Australian newspaper should be enough to show you what is really depressing.

Actually a death by a thousand cuts would be more appealing.
