When i was on work experience at carlton i had to paperclip a number of the designs.

The main designs were basically the same jumper with just a few different colours. It looked like the Richmond wizard cup guernsey (tiger claw one) with the Carlton monogram on the front and yellow/orange numbers on the back.

I saw a set of alternatives, the best one was reversed with the strip being mostly silver/grey.. with navy emblem and avy trim.. looked bloody good actualy.

I'd Much rather be a club that is strong enough to adopt an alternative strip, for the better of the competition. Than being one of the petty whinging clubs who think that not the changing the strip is sign of superiority. I think if these clubs are so obsessed with their historical colours, make em wear knickerbockers and caps when theres a clash.

...and grow handlebar moustaches.

The only reason why some club's dont want to change strips is because there are some old boy at the board level who would refuse to change anything because they can't get over the fact that football is now a much more marketable game than ever before.

I'm a traditionalist, but it's time we get an alternative away strip. It should only be worn when there's a clash eg Melbourne, West Cost, St Kilda.

Might be getting old and my eyes buggering up.

Good to see that you are one of the traditionalist who would embrace something new unlike those in the boardroom of any AFL club.

Melbourne should go back to the royal blue and we'd be ok. It's damn confusing watching Melb v us.

As far as an alternate strip goes, I'd like to see a light blue (very pale) with a large Carlton FC logo. If I had paint on my laptop, I'd do a design.....

It's actually a very good argument, with some good posts so far!

I'm in favour of an alternate strip - and I'd back the silver with the navy blue Carlton emblem, as opposed to full-on white.

Besides, if we had an alternate strip - it would make wearing the traditional navy blue guernsey all the more special at "home" games! :)
