I wont be there day 1 that's for sure, feels very shallow and empty. Had 1 live event pop up which livened things up a bit but then it was back to the boring and way too easy missions. Seems to require a lot of grinding early on if you want to explore which is annoying considering how dull and shallow the missions are. I was running around exploring the underground just beyond the Witch you kill early on and i was 1 hit killed by a knight, shielded and all. Whats the point of having this vast open world if you're confined to a few areas grinding away?

I'm not willing to completely write it of just yet though, finished the session taking on that boss at the start of Devils Lair (think that's the name) and it was fun and challenging. Co op is where this game will shine, will see who else picks it up before deciding.

That said, even as a co op shooter it's behind Evolve for me.
 
I hope people here realise what it means for a game to be in alpha stage. The full game is going to be far superior.

With that said, I won't be getting the game now that the developers have confirmed there will be no local/splitscreen multiplayer.

PCs should drastically rise in popularity over the next decade now that Bungie, a splitscreen friendly developer, want to focus solely on online play.

Had a Killzone look to it as far as environments. Played through the first level, was not too bad. I guess the more levels/weapons etc you get the more interesting. And then having a storyline to follow? I am pretty average at FPS games to say the least, so didnt find it as easy as some more experienced players, so died twice trying to kill that Wizard at the end, purely as I ran out of ammo twice... :oops:

Had a good play of this last night a mates place. Thought it was nice but agree it's fairly shallow. Understand it's in alpha so not going to judge it too much based on that.

If anyone has a spare code it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I started to notice we were re-doing missions. Will have to give that a crack.

Did it last night, a bit of a grind as my weapons were shit and one of the bosses could kill us from anywhere at 1 stage (a bug hopefully) also the AI at one part was just plain dumb, found a spot i could sit and shoot anything and the ai wouldn't come at me, the dumb part was it was directly beside the spot they spawn into the map :drunk::drunk::drunk: so was able to run around in there and do my thing.

Assume you have never played Halo? Destiny plays like Halo, in fact it plays a little quicker than Halo
Correct, have only had the odd MP game and played through maybe 30 mins of Reach. If Halo moves slower than Destiny, then I could see myself not being interested in that too!

Yea running has a Killzone feel, obviously not as heavy as that but it wouldn't hurt to pump it up a notch. I dont think the aiming is too bad, although i went up in sensitivity and if that happens then it may need a tweak.


Anyone else think pvp is unbalanced? i dont think it can be serious when 1 bloke has a chest guard that can take so much damage compared to a bloke that is just starting out and have stuff all in the same match.

Is the PvP on the alpha just open from the start? Because on release PvP modes aren't available until you unlock them a little way in if I remember the article from last month's Playstation mag correctly. This would assume everyone would at least have a little bit of gear.

Obviously I haven't opted in to the testing (last time I beta tested anything was WoW WOTLK and it felt like I ruined the experience upon release), but have they allowed much in the way of levelling the classes? Super keen on warlock but would love to read a bit from those who have had hands on.

It was just for this past weekend but because there was quite a few people suffering from various errors it looks like they're extending it for an unspecified amount of time.
