We have been so poor in the last 5 or so years at developing young players on our list.
Other clubs seem to have 1 or 2 new young players a year who make an impact I can't even think of our last player.
Will use Port Adelaide as an example, they played in 2007 Grand Final while we were languishing near the bottom stockpiling draft picks.
Since then we have hung around mid table winning the odd elimination final here and there.
Port since 2007 have gone down (not as far down as we were) but are now on the up with a bullet 14th in 2012, 5th in 2013, 2014............
But we appear to still be mid table and our player development is so slow.
Port have developed Hartlett, Trengove, Wines, Wingard, now Impey and Clurey to name a few while we haven't really developed no one of note in the last 5 years!
