This is the best show i've seen in ages. I hope it goes around for a long long time.

I find myself relating to this character, which is odd because he's a psychopath, but i can certainly understand his confusion when trying to deal with people, i'm the same way, and i think most people are . . . if not to the same extent as the title character.

Last night's show featured him picking a nice fun video for himself and his girlfriend, so he picks 'terms of endearment' . . . she's sobbing at the end, but as dexter feels little to no empathy, he decides that this is the right moment to 'go down' on his lady friend. Sensational stuff.

Yeah, it's a top show. After I watched the first episode on TV a few weeks ago, I immediately had to go and get the DVD of the first series. Then after watching through that until 4AM for a couple of nights, I found myself compelled to *ahem* get the second series and watch it. I love shows that are really well written, and have ongoing story-lines across a whole series - a true serial, rather than 'monster/crime/whatever of the week' stuff. I also love the mix of police procedural, psychological thriller, black comedy - and Michael C. Hall is just amazing as Dexter. Darla (aka Julie Benz) is really good as the girlfriend as well; she's so good at looking damaged/dilapidated but still gorgeous all at the same time. This show has a bit more than the average TV show, a little something extra. Every episode is feature length film quality, no ‘radio with faces’ type direction, it’s gorgeous to watch.

I can’t recommend this show enough – the first series is out on DVD now, and the second series will be out on the 21st of Aug.

Doaks is the big story line in the 2nd series, i wont give it away.

Dexter is always one step ahead.

Cant wait for season 3 which starts shortly in the US.

dexter is the best show I've ever watched. The first season was brilliant and the second some how manages to match it. Surely the third can't keep up the pace!

I hadn't seen the show on FTA or Showcase but with all the hype I felt compelled to go out and buy the first series.

After watching episode one, the jury is out for me. I will return once I have seen a couple more episodes to give a more educated opinion.

Lots of series have a lull in season two, but Dexter has been at a high level for both of them. Great idea for a show. Imagine the guys sitting down to pitch the show "We've got this show where this serial killer is the hero...."

In my opinion Dexter series 2 is heaps better than the first season, and the start of series three picks up where it left off, full of action and adreniline.
