Don't think Bradley was actually on Lucas when he kicked at least 2 of those, perhaps three.
Well, one consistent aspect remained, Bradley can't play as a tall in defence. Lucas smashed him with 5. Big wraps on Davey though. Johns and Laycock moved well also.
I read in the paper that ryder was playing down back, i wonder if this is something sheedy is thinking about tryin gin the real season, hope not, he has a to much talent playing ruck to be put back.Paddy Ryder was on Lucas at that time if I remember correctly.

I can only go on what Ive read...

Scott Lucas kicked five goals playing mainly on Kepler Bradley, Courtney Johns led strongly to finish with three majors on Michael and ruckman Jason Laycock moved well, showing the benefits of a rare strong pre-season.
Longy i assume you went? can you give us some thoughts?
Adding a few thoughts to the extensive analysis on BB:
* In general there is an astronomical difference between the depth of the list comparing to two years ago.... Not only do we have good young talent coming through, the competition for spots will be savage and will make the #15-22 players that are picked lift to keep their spots.
*Monfries continues to improve, as he looks less like a 14yo and more like a man.
*Ryder looked really good when he played the lead up role on the HF line. He was moving with real purpose at times and it was obvious he responded well to having a set role to play..
********* was very impressive for an 18yo, 190 odd cm rookie.
didn't get that much of it but looked good when he got the ball (played back and usually had a good senior opponent to try and keep quiet)
Hope he turns out like NLM but with better skills....
*Against popular opinion i though Winderlich didn't show much. He's always going to stand out a bit because the way he plays. (and the lack of similar players on the list). but i don't think he's nearly good enough to grab and cement a spot in our midfield. We need "cream" not "flour".
Lovett, Dempsey, Davey and Jetta all look the goods
(although i don't know if i'm bias because we've all been waiting for this injection of pace and i'm not sure if i'm over-ratting them accordingly)
However, Lovett is looking in great touch by any standards)
- Lovett and Dempsey lined up on eachother on the wing for a good deal of the game and both added drive to their respective midfields)
*Gumbleton was injured so they had him out there to teach him how to increase the risk of further injury and look completely out of his depth?????
*Mathew Knights has a great rapore with the younger players......
The black team probably got done on the score-board due to the red teams bigger bodies and the seasoned polish but they certainly took it up to them and did really well through the midfield......
I'll keep posting other observations from the game as i remember them and i'm glad to have a crack at answering anyones specific questions they might have......
How did Mark Bolton go? How did Houli go?

Essendon has unveiled several new faces during its first intra-club practice match at a wet and windy Princes Park on Saturday.
The Bombers stepped up their pre-season campaign in preparation for an exhibition match against the Aboriginal All-Stars in Darwin on February 9.
Mal Michael appeared in his new colours for the first time and slotted into a defensive role alongside regular full-back Dustin Fletcher, the pair looking like an imposing combination that could potentially pose trouble for a few sides this season.
The Bombers also had on show another exciting prospect, this time from the forward line with youngster Alwyn Davey, brother of Melbourne's Aaron, kicking three goals and showing off some good pace.
With captain Matthew Lloyd and James Hird missing from the hit-out, forward Scott Lucas impressed with five majors while Courtney Johns also looked lively with three goals.
Youngsters Danny Chartres and Dean ******** were other notable performers as they continue the learning curve during their rookie season.
Several other players were absent from the match including Chris Heffernan, Richard Cole, Andrew Lee, Jay Neagle and Ricky Dyson, however all are expected to be available for the beginning of the season.
Essendon play Adelaide at AAMI Stadium in round one of the 2007 AFL season on Sunday April 1.
