I can't remember which footy show gave the stat, but apparently, since Round 9 last year, we've won more games than any other club including Geelong and St.Kilda?

When the hell did THAT sneak up on us? I think that even includes finals. Seems like a random stat that was manipulated to give Collingwood the edge. Because obviously last year in the first 8 rounds we had that horror run of injuries and lost a few.

But I'd say that even if you included the first 8 rounds of last year, we'd still be up there abouts.

Well thats about when we started our winning streak wasn't it? Lost 2 games to Hawthorn and Bulldogs, but I think the Saints and Geelong lost 2 games each as well. We lost 2 finals, they didn't. I thought we would've been 1-2 games behind them really but if not that's good. Doesn't mean much though except we are a genuinely good side and not flat track bullies like last year.

It was on one week at a time. Yeah surprised me too. I think it was only H & A though.

Pretty sure it includes finals.

We DID win one final last year. St.Kilda won 2, Geelong won 3.

But we've won more than Geelong this year, and I think won more in H&A last year from 9 onwards.

So I think we're up on Geelong by only 1 or 2.

Irrelevant imo. Much more significant is the fact that this year we are 4/6 against the other top-4 sides and (by my calculations) 9/11(!) against those in the top-8.

my favourite stat is that we've beaten every side in the top 8.

Everyone wanted us to take the big scalps. We've well and truly done that.

Every potential opponent come finals has a loss next to their name the last time they played us.

But there's more! Given our very tough draw this year those wins are a bit more (well, a lot more) meaningful than some of the wins of our main rivals. And it's not as if we haven't been caught out and had to really lift mid-game a few times, eg: the two Melbourne games, or against Geelong last week where we came from behind. Pound for pound we are actually quite a bit ahead at the moment. But everyone lifts for September so none of this will matter then.
