Dimebag Darrell Abbott

As well as the death of John Lennon on this day another great musician Dimebag Darrell Abbott was shot and killed while performing on stage 7 years ago. Dimebag will go down as one of the greatest guitarists in Rock and Heavy Metal. Pantera was a great band. Dimebag's according to many people his best guitar solo was in the song Floods of The Great Southern Trendkill album.
