Putting the journey into perspective, if someone had told us at the start of his tenure it was going to be an 8 year project that would yield a flag and have the list in a position to challenge for another 3-4 seasons we’d have taken it and ran.

Was listening to ABC Grandstand earlier today when they broadcast from Punt Rd the day after the GF. They interviewed a guy who cancelled what was going to be his trip of a lifetime to Mt Everest with his son because experiencing a Tiger GF with his family was going to be an even greater lifetime experience. He didn't even have a ticket to the GF mind you. Just went to Punt Rd on match day. He just sobbed through the whole interview. That's what it means to people. .

At the end of 2014 (the five years) we had played 2 finals series, had zero debt and over 66,000 members.

My friends booked us all a cruise last June and I was so worried and freaked out because it leaves GF day this year. I was so convinced that for sure that’s when we’d finally make it.. what would I do??
Then my mates missus jokes oh well they might make it this year!!
We all laughed.

Hardly missed a beat thereafter and still can’t believe it! Won’t be able to go to the back to back, but I’m fine with that!
