Dimma is the 6th coach to take RFC to back to back finals campaigns. The other 5; Bentley, Minogue, Hughes, Dyer and Hafey were all premiership coaches, in fact, between them they have coached 9 of our 10 premierships.

Hopefully Dimma can join that special club as well. Dimma, you seriously have done what every coach since Hafey have failed to do. Well done

I think Dimma is the right coach for a Tigers premiership, he studied his craft under some of todays greats in the coaches box and he was one hell of a tough player in some extremely good sides. Its obvious to me that some of the way Dimma used to play has rubbed off on the boys too, who knows why things had to get so bad before the boys clicked into gear for him but to their credit at least they did, it could have easily just been another write off of a season. Its a good thing the supporters cant sack Dimma either as the poor bastard would have been gone by round 15 and never got the chance to show just what the Tigers can acheive if the players nut up and play the game his way to his plan. I have to admit i had some WTF Dimma and RFC moments this year especially after the Hafey game, but a real man can admit when hes wrong and so Dimma for all the times i threw shit at you while you were on my TV screen this year Im sorry :)

Its been a remarkable turnaround, well done to him and the whole club for sticking to their guns.

Don't want to sound like a wank, but I loved Dimma even when we were losing. He has great qualities as a leader and as a person, and I admired him and felt like he was trustworthy when things went bad. Whereas Terry Wallace for example would spin, spin, lie, backtrack, change his mind, panic, shake up the team dramatically, talk about draft picks, talk about youth, talk about age profile of the list, make excuses, etc.

Very happy for us to stick with him indefinitely.

Dimma for me had done enough in many areas for me not to lose faith when things went off the rails. I thought I could see(what I thought were at least some of the reasons for this). In all honesty I never lost belief. But the turn around has me gob smacked tbh. I didnt expect it till next season. Still its all ahead of us... Go Tiges

I'm still skeptical. While I like the guy, I've suspected for the last 2 years he doesn't have the game day ability to throw things around and get a result when the game plan is failing. Prior to that I always gave him the benefit of learning as much as the players were. The crows match this year was a possible turning point, where I turned to the missus and said lets see what moves he can make to turn this around, and to his credit he did. But one swallow does not a summer make.

Can't set a team up for finals.
We played out final a week earlier. After 9 weeks of being up, we were always going to hit the wall. But lets all just forget about the previous 9 weeks because we lost.

Agree with a lot of what's being said here, but I still don't know what our game plan or style really is... We seem to kick long to contests all th time, th second half of th year we seemed to be working harder and I think that hid th problems we have..

When are finals played before the finals ? Nonsense on stilts

When you have 20 blokes effectively being shit trucks, no amount of position moves or rah rah half time speeches will change shit

Not saying Dimma had a good day, but the collective group (players, coach, assistant, etc) is responsible for today's cluster ****

Come on Rusty, the last 10 weeks have been lose and we're done. Would you prefer we lost the last 10 games?

Port did a road trip to Perth and fought hard for a no cigar attempt to get fourth . We were out classed in all facets of the game today from picking which direction to kick too right down to the sub selection. Unfortunately last week was not a final it was a HA game. Lets solve the problem and avoid excuses please
What did we hear at 3-10 ?got to come down before we climb
Geelong 2006 etc
Then When we started winning people including myself forgot all the deficiencies our list had
In The off season the club has to cull out these flaws as we could be here again next year saying the same things
Yep we are all disappointed but I will be further disappointed if nothing is done about it.

Problem is half those flaws are either still contracted or we just re-signed them.

It seems the gap between our best & worst is still an issue. I agree with _RT_ ,it's just incredibly difficult to stay up the way we have the second part of the season. We still do have a young core group of players. We think we are hurting, well this will sting the hell out of all at the club. Players most of all & so it should. They will get better.I have no doubt about that.

any team playing Port yesterday would of been thrashed.

Good call, I couldn't see any weaknesses in their game yesterday. They all contributed as a group. Our mistakes didn't hurt them either. But we were soundly beaten by a team that was up for the game from the 1st bounce...
