Surely the tigers have learnt their lesson re: outside mids/ hbs with the supposed silky skills i.e: mcmuffin, tambling, JON etc: that these players are not necessarily the go to so early in the draft.

So, you'd send Deledio back then? What about a Stephen Hill? We've ****ed up players from every category, not only outside mids.

Deledio is a little better than an outside mid, but he was the best available that year. Dont think he necessarily is an outside mid either, he is close to 190 and takes an impressive mark, definitely not an outside mid IMO.

I just think that using a draft pick so high to go solely for an outside mid is very risky, they are easier to tag and in the end are reliant on others to give them the ball.

every team has their outside players though and i dont think it is what great teams are built on, look at the dogs for example, they have a swathe of outside quality players in higgins, griffen, eagleton, cooney (to an extent) and they are not necessarily a great team (yet).

Best available has to be the go for pick 4 or 6 (whatever we get), i hope we dont get bennell based on that and because of his selfish attitude.

He should go to GC so dont think we will have any problems. If Hardwick was still around he would keep that attitude but DH will not accept it and would not get a game untill he fixes it.

Hicks, Gilligan and Roberts (when fit) can all play outside mids coming forward and have kicked goals at Coburg in fact Hicks and Gilligan have kicked mutiple goals several times. Gaff and Darling are the front runners if we finnish last, if we finnish with 4 wins we get picks 4, 27 and 28 with a player picks 27 and or 28 might get us a good player already in the system, I to like Vespremi but he is injury prone. Barry Rowling was to, in 1979 he came back form a bad knee, but what we have to remember is that the game is moving so fast that we cannot take a risk on a player with leg or groin issues. Leave it to Jacko and his guys to do thier job.
PS WE ONLY NEED ANOTHER INSIDE MID, they are the ones that are hard to find and or replace in times of injury or retirement, lets get it right guys. Edwards, Collins, Nason, Connors and Tambling could all be used as outside running mids coming forward.
