There is something sensual about the sweet skin of a steamed dim sim dripping with hot soy sauce. The true food of love.

Definetely fried!

You can really get them to kick as you pitch them just short of a length - positively fizz through to the keeper!!

Get them to hoop through the air into the wind as well!!

Steamed just explode when they hit the deck :(

Cheers

Good point. A steamed 'beamer' will make an awful mess on the batsman though.

I agree with that one Rusty.

There's a fish and chippery up at Moama which has the yummiest soy sauce - I think they mix it with a bit of honey and who knows what else - but its absolutely delish :D

Yeah fair call - but there is nothing to compare to the CLANG!!! as a fried dimmy ricochets off the helmet - music to the ears!

Serious question marks Carlos.

Anyone who is coming to Perth for a visit, BE WARNED, fish & chip shops only sell fried, if you ask for steamed they look at you as if you have just landed from Mars.
The only place I have been able to get them here is from some Chinese restaurants, or you have to buy frozen ones & steam your own, never taste as good as the ones from the fish shop though.
I pig out on them every time I go to Melbourne. :D

I think this is the best thread on BigFooty since my 'Pizza in the Morning' inspired effort.

Carlos, I tips me hat to you. I think it's food that brings the people together.

It's been a couple of years since I've eaten a dim sim. But I used to like them steamed.

I could probably make a fortune if I started outlets for steamed dim sims, all the ex vics would flock to them, might have to look into that. :D

Do you mean you have never tried that, soy sauce is for pussys, real men use worcestershire.
Interesting theory.

All i know is that tomorrow's lunch time cannot come quickly enough now. I have packed the worcestershire in the brief case for tomorrow in mouth watering anticipation.

I am forever in your debt redback.
