Disappointing

Another 3 qtr effort last night. You'd think with Hird out someone would be willing to at least show some form of leadership in his abscence.

I thought the telling moment of our imminent demise last night was in the 4th qtr when Lloyd had ran all the way down to the backline. The ball went over his head and he just idled after it and watched it go out of bounds with no Geelong player within 10 meters of him. That summed the whole night up. It was like we didn't want it.

Why do we insist on playing so deep along the wings?

I still think alot of people underrate Geelong.

Didn't seem interested last night. Skill errors were horrendous. Fumbling, dropped marks, missed tackles....simply aweful.

there were a few who could hold their heads up high but that effort of lloyds letting the ball go out of bounds was a disgrace and the cats fans let him know it too.

Didn't want it as badly as them. They routinely took the ball the length of the ground with no pressure on them. Unconteseted marks from 20 metre kicks.

We did had a bit of a go, and weren't terrible, but we should have gone harder. We were going at 85% and they were going at 100%.

Agree with all that. The positive is that we still remained so competitive when at 85% as you say, and without Hird. Definately a frustrating, but not shattering loss.

there was too much pressure on the defense.

every time geelong got the ball out of half back they had a free run through the centre so they could get it easily to any of their average forwards.

of course having fletcher and wellman playing ****s of games, and mcphee playing forward, we had substandard defense
