Ten should come out and apologize to non essendon fans for the commentary during tonight's game. Lloyd should never again be allowed to commentate an essendon match as his bias towards his old club was disgraceful.

Halfway through the first quarter he gave BOG to Heppell and bagged richmond at every opportunity. He refused to see and state that the reason some of the bomber players were playing poor was due to the tiges pressure and game plan.

Lloyd did say he tipped us but I thnk it was just to soften the blow of his comments during the broadcast.

Tim Lane wasn't the best either, I actually found Walls to be commentating even & well and that's saying something:eek:
 
I actualy thought Lloyd was pretty good tonight...he tipped us at the start of the game and Heppel always gets praise from all commentators (and is a good player) so I wouldn't worry about that.

Channell 10 are terrible no doubt and Walls is like a broken record - pickes his favorites in the first quarter then talks them up all match. I thought lloyd was actually better than usual. Tim Lane in my opinion is just a terrible and way over-rated commentator.

And while it took me a while to come to terms with the count down clock on TV, I think everyone except channel 10 has now accepted it (even me).

I actually think foxtel/austar should apologise for saying to wait as we will see the tigers sing the song then nearly straight away closed the broadcast and got no song joy!!!! **** YOU AUSTAR!!!!! till next year that is, better not be cut things out like this with your 24/7 afl channel!!!!!
 
I have to agree with the OP. Yeah Lloyd tipped you guys, but his comments during the game were laughable at times.

I also thought it was priceless how he used the excuse that Essendon haven't had a bye yet, without realising that you guys haven't had one yet either.

Fantastic footballer in his day, horrible commentator.

Tim Lane and Stephen Quarterbrain seemed to be barracking for Essendon too.

Robert Walls just pumps up whoever is winning at the time. :o
 
Sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of me fapping to Heppell every time he's within 1000 meters of the ball.


(Heppel is a gun, but seriously? Tone it down commentators)
 
Lloyd was making excuses for em losing before and after the match <how tired they looked <they were beaten by a better side and lloyd knew it .

Agreed Crum.

Tonight he at least knew one of the teams well, which eliminates half the elementary mistakes he makes week in week out, his rampant bias only surfaced on about a dozen really obvious occasions, and I don't recall him saying anything which confirmed beyond all doubt that he's dumber than the average house brick.

I honestly reckon he put up a solid 3/10 tonight and blazed his way to a career high performance. They should put the tongue tie on him more often, he'll be pumping out the 2/10's like it's child's play.
 
I know we sound like broken records bagging CH10 but seriously ... Walls and Quarterbrain are beyond disgraceful and are insults to anyone who follows our club ...

I urge anyone to watch the third quarter replay and see if they can actually hear Walls or Quarterbrain pay us a compliment . Every time we kick a goal its generally met with silence and everytime something is said its either Lane or Lloyd left to comment .

Their squirming is hilarious .

All they can do is say how ordinary certain Essendon players are going .

For a team like ours on the rise after so long in the gallows , the lack of feel for the game or the atmosphere they display is childish and pathetic .

Halle - fuggin - lujah that they won't be around next year

I know ... but sreiously .. i'm no 7/Mc Aveney fan but at least he creates some atmosphere . Thats what a professional does .

Walls and quartermains disdain for the RFC is almost palpable .

Quarterbrain will be reading the sportsnews on 10 and Walls will be put into a nice paddock somewhere ... hopefully full of Thistles and that grass that killed Phar Lap
 
I'm with the OP it was disgraceful by all of them but the biggest surprise was hearing Lloyd call a Bombers game. If they review their performances like professionals should do they'd all have to confront very ordinary performaces and should all recieve verbal or written warnings for poor performance.

If I was in charge of the commentary team I'd just rule a line through Lloyds name for any Essendon games. He'll have to learn how to provide an un bias opinion.
 
Lloyd was ok, but Tim Lane, **** me. Was he trying to get the bombers over the line or what. Bitching about umpire decisions etc etc.
 
I loved the way all four of them discussed how stiff Houli was to get delisted by Essendon. I'm sure that Lloyd knew the story pretty well. The other 3 are paid good coin to know what is happening around clubs.

I was embarrassed for all of them.

I think Walls had to be a bit more impartial from his usual self because, from his own commentating experience, he could sense his colleagues where way over the top in Essendons favour at times during the match!!!

That match was clearly looked at through rose coloured glasses which is great for the punt when you are going the other way!!!

Keep it up boys, I still might make some more money out of you idiots yet!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

:thumbsu::thumbsu: Lloyd has become a very good commentator on the game. Football in general, not just last night. He was the only one to tip Richmond last night on the commentry team. Not sure what this post is about.
 
it was pretty funny they were carrying on about the bombers needing the bye, when we don't have one for another week. laughable. their thinking that Bachar was delisted highlights the complete lack of knowledge of goings on in the league.
 
I thought Lloyd was alright.....

Walls however is a pest. He pretty much hates everyone in the AFL except his Blues (and Dustin Martin for some reason).
