Disposal tonight has been absolute rubbish! Kicking to the forward line has been absolute crap, just then the Thommo kick forward was shocking! Perrie should have had a shot, but kicks to Thompson who chips to nobody capable of marking.

A lot of the kicks have just been bombed forward to nobody in particular, Roo and McLeod and co have done nothing really... why arent the top echelon of players stepping up? We have a Brownlow medallist and a dual Norm Smith medallist yet they have had poor games really.. McLeod has kicked the winner against Collingwood, and had a good game against Port but apart from that he hasn't done much this year.

I can not understand why?!

I hope we learn from the last few weeks, because if we don't Brisbane and St Kilda will murder us. We get plenty of the ball and we are good enough, but our disposal lets us down terribly and bloody hell it frustrates me.

That's the end of my rant for the night.

After all we had approx 15% more disposals than the Dees, and lost by 24 points.

Our overall effort was good, our finish overall quite shocking at times.

Add to that the lack of a potent forward line, and the result wasn't too bad, against a genuine top 8, likely top 4 side on their home ground.

It's not the end of the world.

The other side of the coin is that although we lost, we're not far away.

There are good signs - I'd hope we can regroup and come back strong enough to beat the Lions - I'd say we are a chance to do that.

And while I'm disappointed with the result tonight - I didnt tip them I so cant be too critical. The endeavour was great, even from most of those who played stinkers!

However, under my breath, I'm saying we still should have won.

i think you are wrong, although that gun forward wouldnt hurt though. Who did melbourne have in the last half to aim at ? Holland, thats hardly champion material. They had a system where they either kicked to a leading forward or direct to the big man and had runners like davey going past him. We had nothing like this, but i would class biglands as an equally good target as holland. Melbourne were better at delivering the ball the forwards, they used the corridor when ever they possibly could, we didnt. This is a long held myth that we need a huge forward, we got the best and due to our delivery to him he was ineffective. Need to be kicking to space or an isolated opponent as we had been doing on occasions this season. It was kicking to packs in the third quater that hurt us tonight i reckon.
