Did the umpires feel the need to even up the frees in the last Q - don't think it made much diff but what a swing. Why was the last umpire thread locked - aren't we allowed to discuss umps?

mate i rekon about 10 free kicks to the crows were shocking.
did u see waites penalty for punching the ball while it was over the line for the goal?? ridiculous enough said.........but we did have a chance to ice the game in the 3rd and we didnt take it.
Still doesn't help when the umpires couldnt get a thing right in the last qrtr

The reason for the lopsided free kick count was they were winning the ball. If you win the ball, more often you get the free. We got killed in the middle and they were first at it.
That Waite decision used to be the way (o think a report for time wasting). But with a bag full of footballs behind each goal, it should not apply anymore. Umpires should be smart, walk over to the bag and pick up another goal. Stupid. Would love to hear the giesh spin some bull on how it was a good decision.

It is bewildering how the umpires can favour some teams in final quarters. I didnt see the game today but I know how you guys feel.
I dont think they even up the free kick count, because the AFL has banned TV networks from even releasing the figures of free kick counts and bans boths coachs and players from commenting in the press.
Umpires are a protected species by the AFL, they cannot be seen to make mistakes, they deny responsibilty to everything and the clubs need to get together and force the AFL's hand on being able to have more feedback towards umpiring quality assurance.
Right now its a dictatorship

Yeah the umpires were a disgrace and I felt like running on to the field and killing them. That Waite incident was embarrassing for them and they lost us the match along with our poor kicking. Crows did not haver to do anything to win this match, the umpires and us served it to them on a platter.

Does antone know why the ball was reversed in the last quarter? I only saw the umpire run up and snatch the ball out of Gibbs' hand and throw it to the Adelaide player.
The umpire was a joke guys, but don't be one-eyed on it.
For the first 3 quarters, the Crows had six free kicks. That is absolutely incredible!
So we got absolutely screwed by the umpires for 3/4 of the game.
In the last quarter they were clearly trying to even them out, as we got some crap frees, but we did get reamed for most of the game.

The umpire had $10,000 on Adelaide by more than 39.5.
He figured he had got them that close that he may as well have one final crack.
As much as the umpiring in the final quarter was dismal I think we dug our own grave today With bad decision making and stuffing around with ball.
