Adam Tomlinson is already a great CHF, Patton is an incredibly good FF, and Cameron will play the third tall/lead up target. Plus they could still get Franklin.

Adam Tomlinson is the perfect fit for the RFC. :)

That gives us me an idea. Vickery number one ruck, and we make maric that power forward. Mcbean plays centre half forward, which creates space for riewoldt close to goal. Is that a great idea, or is that a great idea????

maric isnt that great up forward, i wouldnt say he's as good as vickery up forward. maric in the number 1 and is good pinch hitting up forward.

It is my understanding that Boyd is also an incredibly good FF. So back to my original point. Why not trade Patton to St Kilda for example and keep Boyd. People always like to say every draft pick is a risk....but Pattons barely played and done 2 knees. I know who I'd be taking a risk on

i know id prefer patton.;)

Id keep Patton...2 years have already gone into him, and you know he's going to be good, remember his first game against us last season? Took some great clunks for an 18 year old.

I do, he was exceptional. I'm still gona have to go at Boydy! :D It's like taking Deledio over Foley!

I still think that we should target Shaun McKernan. Very much a pack crashing forward. Can pinch hit in the ruck on occasion too.

Just on the Boyd V Patton thing, I think Boyd will end up being the better player overall. Pretty much a clone of Patton without the injury troubles. I'd be surprised if Patton plays more than 150-200 games at AFL level.

Mitch Harvey - SA
196cm 97kg
Strong contested marking forward with comparisons to Kurt Tippet, good kick and works hard. He'll probably get snapped up #20 - 35

Even Bruce said he was a bit dopey.

For those wondering, this is taken from Knightmare's mock draft. I rate Knightmare in regards to his knowledge of the draftees, so his views get me a little excited:

Mitchell Harvey (SA – KPF)
Height: 195cm, Weight: 97kg, DOB: 17/08/1995
Recruited from: North Adelaide
Style: Jeremy Cameron/Taylor Walker
Player comparison:
Range: 20-50
Profile: Nephew of now Collingwood recruiter Matt Rendell. Harvey is a big bodied key forward who has been hidden away to some extent due to school footy. More your deep full forward at this point but he could play centre half forward if you wanted him to once he further builds up his endurance. Harvey is a reliable contested marking presence who also has some ability on the lead and in the air with his ability to read it coming in and in the air excellent. In addition to his marking Harvey also has some rare ability for a player at his size at ground level picking ground balls up cleanly, roving at times and snapping over his shoulder effectively for goals making him much more than a mark and goal forward. Harvey is a reliable set shot goal kicker and his skills by foot are exquisite similar to Jaksch last year where he not only converts from those set shots but also has rare vision and ability to hit targets inside 50 and get it to where the forward wants it. He’s very capable of going off and kicking a bag of goals and has played some strong footy both back in SA and through the u18 champs. One really positive sign in my mind with Harvey is how much weight he’s dropped since the start of the year. From reports his dropped 9kg which is a credit to his discipline and drive to make it and from listening to his coaches talk about him he’s reportedly exceptionally coachable. The dropped weight has really helped Harvey from an athleticism standpoint and despite his size he’s in fact pretty quick on the lead and very agile for a tall which is really pleasing and a great sign that he’ll still be able to move when he puts further muscle onto his frame and a sign that his body can hold it.

True, but we have some smart footballers who do some incredibly dumb things (Vickery, Jackson et al.).

He wouldn't be all that expensive, and would be a decent addition. Plonk him and jack in the goalsquare, Jack to roam about 30 meters out and Vickery to push up to the 50-70 meter zone. Would work pretty well, I reckon,

I really think that we're lacking one, someone who requires the best defender and isn't just a lead up player like most of our forwards seem to be. Now obviously Boyd from this draft is the closest to that, and even if he slides to pick 3 it'd cost a crap load to get a pick like that. Any ideas?

I think on ressies form we re entitled to think that Mcbean or Elton can possibly fill that role , anyone we draft will be minimum 12 months behind these two

Richmond would be suited to finding a specialist medium forward like bruest or crameri. This could give us extra dynamics and avenues to goal.

McBean is closer to a small crumber then a power forward.
