Be really interested in what everyone thinks about the hype surrounding us this time around compared to other seasons when we had a lower profile in the off-season. There are obvious advantages and disadvantages with the hype but would be great to hear other people's opinions.

Option one means you like it all together.
Option two is self explainable.
Option three is liking how the club is making some cash through memberships, sponsors and merchandise but not liking the added expectation that us supporters place on the team that comes with the hype.
Option four is pretty stupid but i accidently had 4 options written and didnt know what to put in the forth and didn't want to type the thread again.

No.. I hate it.

The expectation is that we will make finals and possibly top 4. Meaning that if we lose early games which if you look at the draw is highly likely, the pressure on the players/coaching staff etc.. will be even greater than usual.

Although I do like reading about Richmond every second day in the paper. :thumbsu:

The media loves us...and I love it.
Richmond sells papers.
deliberate!! buys papers.
The media writes more about Richmond.
deliberate!! buys more papers.

Hype gets you up. Hype gets us known. Hype got us Cousins.
And Hype gave JSFish a woody!

And all the world is good...

Hate it. Would love to just sneak under the radar into the top 8, but with the Benny Cuz signing and all it just aint gonna happen. Such a young team and so much to live up to, unfortunately.

We've snuck under the radar for so long that at times we've flown low enough to grab Wooden Spoons. Let's stay in the clouds, the air's cleaner.

From my selfish point of view I love it, love it, love it.
Richmond never got a mention here in Qld on TV and newspapers until Cousins arrived. There is only so much crap I can tolerate about what Vossy and his Lions are up to
However from a team point of view the less publicity the better

I love it, get to see Richmond on the news in the papers all the time.
Players need to be able to perform under pressure with everybody watching if we are ever going to do anything so its also a very good experiance for them as well

I know how much I was p!ssed off with Chris Judd and Carlton at this time last year, so it makes me smile every time I pick up a paper or turn on the TV and there's some absurdly inane story about Cousins.

To know that Cuz has totally shat on the Blues "They Know We're Scumming" campaign, to see photos of the Richmond Lovefest family day compared to the Hawthorn 'Two Families and a dog day', to see 90% of football articles on this weeks game all about the Tiges, and the 10% that are Collingwood stories are just talking to Magpie players about Benny - it's beautiful, it's ridiculous, it's hilarious, it's pissing off the people you want to piss off, and it's great for the club.

But geez, I hope we win a few games.

I'm right behind this post , Carlton have tried everything to get in the papers this off season and know one cares. Their marketing team have tried their best to concoct stories of interest on their players and most of all promote arrogance with their "they know we're coming campaign" and it has fallen on deaf ears largely due to the fact of the Ben Cousins Hype.

The upside of all this hype is that Andy Collins is well and truley in the spot light which he deserves as he will become the greatest No 73 draft pick in history and take over from Ben when he retires.

gotta love the hype. But the tiges have been bitten to many times by bad luck, so I kinda hope to hell, that this time its our turn to get the good stuff.
Never, has there been so much good news week stuff re. tigers. Its to good to be true. ;)

I am loving it. The club is brimming with confidence and the future looks bright.

Never underestimate the effect confidence can have on a group of young men and the hype must be fueling this.

Also it is great to know i can visit any number of sites an any given day and read about my beloved tigers.

Any attention is good attention, and I love attention lol:cool:

Mostly I like it, but I wish it wasn't quite so focussed on one player.

The other problem is that when we make finals this year, he'll get the credit, while the reality is we should have got there anyway.
