Yeh not happy he tried to get my man Sulieman Benn out...**** i love Sully

That one wasn't too bad anyway. Even in slow motion it was close, so with the adrenaline rushing and having to dive forward you could forgive him thinking he caught it.

Fair call SBI, but it doesn't look great when you add it to the one in the last test, which clearly bounced.

Yeah, I didn't see it but heard it was a stinker. ABC guys reckoned the rug got in the way then. :p

Yeah you could excuse the latest one as it looked close even on replay, can't blame a fielder for claiming those as they wouldn't know if it bounced.

The Adelaide catch was pretty dodgy but as a fielder it can still be hard to tell and Dougy isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.

I didn't see the first one, but today's claim I have no problem with. He dived, wasn't looking at the ball, felt it in his hand, so he stood up and held the ball up for the umpires to make the call. He did nothing wrong.

Had he have jumped up, thrown the ball in the air and ran in like he thought he caught it, then I would have had a problem with it. He's entitled to ask the umpires to make a decision, which is precisely what he did.

The ones I'm having problems with is Haddin's disgraceful appealing for catches that are clearly not out. Does he have poor vision or something?

Players would make the umpires' job that much easier if they didn't appeal for decisions which were clearly not out.

By doing so, they give the impression to me that they are trying to con an incorrect decision out of the umpire.

Warne appealed for absolutely everything, including LBW's which palpably pitched outside leg stump.

And I still remember to this day when Lara was given out caught behind (in an ODI in Brisbane I think) when he missed the ball by inches. It didn't stop Gilchrist from enthusiastically appealing with everyone else though.

There is a distinct lack of integrity from the modern international cricketer when it comes to appealing.

At least he bends his back and got the most out of the pitch, he wears his emotions on his sleeve.

Looks like a guy who would fight to the death, which is something we have been desperately missing in our team since the transition. The rest of the little girls just fold under the pressure.

yep he's stepped up and taken up the #1 strike bowlers mantle currently, and he's only in the team cos of injury

any shield / park cricketer would have claimed those... it's only in test cricket we find out some hit the grass.

(cue the "i can tell when ive taken a catch or not")

Watched Dougie bowl at Adelaide, the guy gives 100% everytime.I rate him.

Only issue is possible injuries down the track if doesnt manage his workload. He steams in ball after ball.

Warne had nothing on Harbi and Kumble, lets not forget the Indians are the only team who have fined more than once for excessive appealing

The crowning glory of Anil Kumble appealing for LBW when Brad Hogg hit the ball through cover for 3 - and then lecturing on the spirit of cricket was one of the more amusing things I have seen in cricket. He appealed for everything every ball.

He wasn't as bad as Pat Symcox..

I was only referring to a couple of Australian examples of over-appealing.

No doubt it is a world-wide problem, and the players from the sub-continent are serial offenders in particular and have been for a long time.
