To end Richo's career, promises to polarise the club and membership this does. Any number of cases could be put forward however I'm not sure the ol chestnut that the club aint big enough for the new boy on the block and a living legend will wash with 45,000 of our members...will indeed be a rivetting debate...we may need some extra moderators in a few months time:rolleyes:

Of course the new coach can cull the list if he wants...but it would destroy the club if he was to cull Richo if he still wanted to play on and was still fit and capable. I also reckon Bowden deserves another year if he wants it based on how good he has been for us in the past couple of seasons and the year so far.

careful who you're calling stupid partner, the next sensible remark you make will be your first, have a bit of ****en respect or say nothing at all

So it's only a sensible remark if I say no he doesn't he the right to move him on? We will have a new coach next year and it's a very high probability that Richo will be moved on, of course he has the right. No coaches would take the job if they weren't aloud to make list management decisions of that nature.

there will be a range of factors usually none greater than the washup of the season past when looking forward for the >30s ...If it is a fair dinkum **** of a year...the odds plummet...If there are signs of life then a new coach could see value...will also have a fair bit to do with own coaching ideals and where he reckoned richo could be best utilised..and the reality is that could be anywhere from forward...mid to the grandstand:confused:

there was NO need to label the thread stupid...no problem with what you just said

I`m tipping this may very well be his last year anyway ...

Make no mistake ... this injury is pretty serious for a 34 year old ...100kg plus ... who`s stock and trade is running around the park like a Gazelle .

I am wondering whether its associated in any way with his knee reco 14 years ago ... they used to use a peice of hamstring tendon as the new graft/ligament when forming a new ACL ... This can leave the Hammy "weakened" ....

DISCLAIMER - And i know i am no doctor but i have had a knee reco and know a little bit about this subject

there is enough rubbish on our list at the moment (with the way they are performing) that the new coach would be forced to leave the culling of richo & bowden to the following year.

h has to have that right. (hope he dosent) why would you be a coach if you cant have the list you want?

But if he is moved on, I'd still like to see him remain in the club looking after the young'uns.

Why? What possible glimpses of coaching or leadership potential have you seen in Richo over the years? The guy is one of the least smart footballers we've seen. What's he going to be - skills coach?

Fact is we have been shit for 27 years now - we need to face facts and clean the place of the deadwood. I don't want any Old Tigers involved except at the president's lunch.
I will support the new coach's decision - if he wants to keep Richo - OK. If he wants to move him on - fair enough. But if he wants to move him on, and the members revolt, fair dinkum - do they want the club to be competetive or do we want it to be a caring, sharing old folks home?

Here we go again as soon as we start losing we start fighting again, gotta love the passion we have for this club.:D
