I've found myself on the mailing list of a fair few gullible people and am forever getting these ridiculous emails sent to me with health warnings and urban legends.
Just for fun, I occasionally run them through the snopes site and expose the myth.

So I get this email yesterday, its a photoshopped rotting boob. It doesn't even look real, but the image has been haunting me for 24 hours now, I just can't get it out of my mind.

So the story goes, you should wash your bras before wearing them, something about flesh eating parasites.

So a quick check of snopes with the keywords breast and larvae brings up the offending shot, along with versions of the email text and a discussion about how dodgy the story is. They've even gone so far to identify a lotus seed pod as the likely object melded onto the boob.

Still, I can't get this vision out of my head.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post the photo without breaking any bigfooty laws here, but it can be found at this link http://www.snopes.com/photos/medical/breastrash.asp

35eye, this post is 24K gold. Nay, it's platinum.

Why ? Well, sorry to go all caps lock on you, but.....

EXACTLY THE SAME FCUKING THING HAPPENED TO ME !!!!!

Same stoopid email. Then looked up snopes.com for the myth-busting story, and similarly became obsessed with the image in question. Couldn't erase it from my mind for about a month straight of every day having this picture in my head, like, every 10 minutes. It fricken' haunted me big time.

As mentioned, the good news is, it did eventually fade away. But as I say, it took a while.

Didn't the snopes story say that it was actually a lotus flower bud imposed onto the breast ? I'm too scared to go back to the page from fear of freaking myself out all over again.

I want to click that link, but it really doesn't sound like a good idea.

Same. I'll be the canary down the mine and have a look. I'll let you know.

Sounds good in theory, but it could scar your brain and you will still tell me it's good to go.

Double Meh.

That made you sleep with the light on ToD??

oooookaay

I think you're taking the word "haunted" a bit too literally.

But if that helps you picture me in bed, you go for it.

I cannot hack another month of this vision!
I'm tempted to cash in on one of my 3 work-funded counselling sessions, maybe hypnosis is the key. Anything to eradicate this maggoty mammory from my mind!

I've got a new theory, if I find something more sickening it might substitute the vision of the offensive tit and I can get some sleep.

Scanning snopes, I found this fake. Circulated on emails as mouse & keyboard overuse.

Reportedly, the fingers have been manipulated with the mouths of sea lampreys.

Snopes is an awesome website.

The biggest catalogue of urban legends and myths on the web.

The nasties gallery is pretty small. Not the grossest site on the planet.

The video of the fly larvae being removed from the lady's breast is much more disturbing to me than the photo. The link to this video is in the OP near the bottom of the page.

I'll see how the counselling turns out before I confront it.

There was something similar in All Saints last year where this worm-like parasite got into this bloke's leg wound somewhere in South-East Asia. Months later the bloke presented at the hospital back in Australia for what he thought was a painful infection that wouldn't heal. They identified the parasite and suspected it was wrapped around inside his body at a length between 1 and 2 metres. They couldn't kill the thing and had to wrap its head around a pencil, intructing the bloke to pull another centremetre out every so many days.

Being Australian tv, you can imagine the vision and effects weren't that great but the mere description stuck with me for days. Revolting.
